I agree. And everyone has this ridcoulous feeling the Odom is gonna leave. Which is kinda making me worried if the Finals loss left the Lakers fans in a daze. Odom isn't leaving, how come people can't accept that he is here to stay. We won't get equal value for him, Mitch, Kobe, Phil all Love him. And these trade Ideas are nuts also.

Odom isn't leaving, he also wants to stay, and will probably re-sign with us but take a huge paycut, prolly down to about 6-8 million a year.

What people forgot also is Pau has a mid-range game. And if its neccesary, we can get Odom in the post against the very much smaller SF's and have pau slip out a little, and camp out in the middle of arc (inside the arc) waiting for a chance to slash inside or get a pass for a mid range jumpshot that he has proven to make.

Why are people saying that Odom needs to be able to hit a jumper? I'm sure Jackson will get something worked out that could get Odom in the post against smaller SF's.

That's why we lost.

We aren't going to face a piss-poor defensive team in the NBA Finals. It's the East. The great defensive teams in the East are the Celtics, Pistons, Cavaliers...and those (along with the Heat, who had Posey and Zo) have been your East Finals reps for the last five seasons.

We have to beat teams with our defense, and Lamar has none. As much as we've hated them, we are only building a team similar to the Queens almost a decade ago...a 60-65 win season in the making, a few rounds into the playoffs, and then we start to struggle (but at least we got to the Finals).

Artest over Odom would be huge, and we would beat Boston in five.

I have to disagree, because your saying had we Artest we would've won the ring. My question is who would play PF? or backup PF? Plus, I strongly disagree with Odom's defense. I think its horribly underrated.

11/14 Lakers Vs Rockets, Both SF's were kept to 8 and 9. (Mcgrady, Battier)
11/16 Lakers Vs Pistons, Prince held to 16 while Odom goes for 25
11/18 Lakers Vs Bulls Odom has Andre Noccoini score 16 (when he played heavy minutes and started)

Just some highlights. But Odom has proven himself a nice size and speed to guard other 3's. Offensivley, yes he can use some work, but last I checked Lakers had problems defensvley.

At 20m+ we can't afford them, can we?

YOU can't. Buss can.

Bynum
Pau
Deng
Kobe
Hinrich

Playoffs.
Parades.
Championships.
TV deals.
Sponsors.
Merchandise.

That's win-win. And opposition to that says more than you could ever type out.

Odom couldn't post up Posey, so what's going to change now?

Posey is known for being a smart defender. And for the post that said like he did the first 4 years, I think he got injured in his first season. The next season he played SF but I think that Kwame wasn't working at PF so maybe thats why getting Lamar involved was difficult, and then from there on Lamar played PF. But now here is a chance, Pau can slash in, and hit the open Mid Range J.

Does Pau really have a reliable midrange? I know he can shoot from midrange but he rarely used it last year with the Lakers. Maybe because he's playing out of position but his midrange seemed very shaky in terms of his confidence.
Hopefully he does practice that midrange a lot more when Bynum comes back.

It was reliable up until He got injured in New Orleans, after that, it was never the same.

Pau is known for having a decent jumpshooter. Odom is not. Pau can be excused because we have seen what he has done in Memphis. Once Bynum gets back, Pau will be able to drift outside and take shots instead of trying to be the physical big man. With Bynum dominating inside, and Gasol hitting jumpshots, we will have an unstoppable C-PF combo.

I feel bad for Lamar, for all the hes been through in his life, its like were doing a trade just to do a trade, hes still young and one of the underrated players of this league.

I say don't trade him unless a trade comes up that will really help our team now, and the future

just my opinion.

He doesn't fit our team anymore. I used to think he was a great fit, but playing him at the 3 is just a mistake. We need a player who can shoot and play great defense. Lamar cannnot do either of those. Plus, he is going to want to get PAID. He doesn't suit our system and he will cost too much. To me, that is a good enough reason to trade a player.

Who does fit on our team? Shane Battier is one example.
