^^ I heard a couple of their songs, I dont want to sound bias, but I think there really trying to sound like Circa, about three of their songs opened like three of Circas songs. But if there going to try and sound like someone, Circa isn't a bad choice.

Well, two bands can sound alike without one copying the other, but yea, I do agree they sound very much alike. I think it wasn't that they are copying Circa but riding on the success of trailblazers like Circa.

Avalon? I almost downloaded it. Is it worth it?
I saw it had a bunch of High and Driving tracks on there, so I skipped it.

i was kinda disappointed, I mean its still Anthony Green so the vocals are great, but after listening to him in Circa anything else seems disappointing.

Circa Survive - On Letting Go
I gave this one a cursory listen a couple days ago, just gave it a thorough listen. Wasn't what I was expecting from an alternative band, although it may be just a bias on my part because I'm not used to alt bands having this kind of vocalist. I was immediately startled when I heard Anthony Green and found it hard to shake off - he sounds strikingly female, but I don't think that's the major selling point of Circa Survive. What I did find after I let go of my initial bias was some awesome lyrics and drum parts. Green's voice and the interweaving of the guitars creates a kind of emotional intensity in the band's sound that's really quite epic.

In the end, I dig the sound and the atmosphere the instrumentation creates but find the album difficult to adore, at least right now after a couple listens. I'd compare Circa to Rush in a way, Geddy Lees vocals also prevented me from completely digging Rush despite how much I loved their sound. Anyway, no offense intended, but if Anthony Green had been female I don't think it would have changed Circa's sound at all. Because I don't really enjoy his voice, I wish the instruments were mixed louder in the track but I think that would have disrupted the delivery of the lyrics. My favorite tracks were "The difference between medicine and poison... " and "kicking your crosses down."
