Paul Pierce for MVP?
I don't know how many of you caught the Boston Celtics' game against the Toronto Raptors last night, but it may have been the launch pad for Paul Pierce's MVP campaign.
NBA League Pass is a wonderful thing, making it so that if one game is a blow-out you can flip to something else and catch another good game. Several games were down to the wire last night, like the incredible show Dwyane Wade put on as the Miami HEAT came from behind to beat New Jersey and the Portland Trail Blazers did the same to the Orlando Magic. I had long since tuned out the Raptors and Celtics, as Toronto was up by a significant margin. Later, as I flipped through the game, I noticed it was getting closer . . .and then the Paul Pierce show began.
Three after three from Pierce, driving plays, dishing to an open teammate for a three . . .it was something to see. Pierce scored 36 points and fueled a 35-22 fourth quarter run as Boston came out on top 94-87. Right now this looks like a two-man race between Kobe Bryant and Pierce.
