Rad SHOULD be starting no matter what - he spaces the floor for the first unit.

When Ariza/Farmar/Odom come in off the bench, it is like an instant attack on both ends of the floor. I love this team.

I'm bumping the good Trevor Ariza thread because that other one sucks

I locked the other thread because we already have this one and Ariza won't make the Olymipic team in 2012. lol

I hope he can stay healthy for the whole season. He's playing good this season.

Ariza can't start because he doesn't have a jump shot.

If you haven't notice his jump shot has improved.

His jumpshot has improved immensely. He's shooting 54.5% beyond the arc, although he's only shot 11 3's (and made 6 of them). But before this season, he only made 9 total (out of 43...about 20%) in his entire career. The good thing is that he seems to be picking his shots very wisely. He's no chucker, and as long as he continues with his careful shot selection and he doesn't get overconfident, he will maintain a high percentage.

Trev is really showing tremendous play in all aspects of the game if he can stay consistent with his shot for the next 10 games or so he should be starting. Vlad has never been consistent on offense or defense and can be a huge liability at times.

If signing Ariza to 5 mil a season means not getting LO for 10+ mil a season then bye bye LO. I would like to have both back next season but LO is probably going to demand money the Lakers cant and wont offer. I think Powell can make a good replacement at the backup position to Gasol and Bynum. Hes no LO but but hes just like a Ronny Turiaf replacement which were fine with a season ago.

Overpaying for Vujacic is going to hurt us when its time to resign Trev.

overpaying for sasha?, do you guys not know that injuries happen on every team every year...how much is sasha worth, if trevor or kobe or jordan miss any time or fish, think people... Sasha scored 20 in the Finals, who else on thi s team can say that?
Again - this team, as currently constructed won't make it out of the second round of the playoffs, let alone the West or win the Finals.---fido on 2011 Lakers

Sasha was paid at market value. He's a great asset off the bench, and if we were to trade him would be a valuable piece.
Gooden>> Lamar Odom. Mo Williams>> Ray Allen>> Gasol. Nene= Gasol.

Vujacic was a career under 40% shooter before last year and he is below so far this season. Roger Mason and Matt Barnes were better and cheaper options than him. He was overpaid just like Luke, an MLE type player normally puts up 2 decent seasons before the contract.
