Id say barring a high draft pick which may land us a center we should consider hill and Davis as a center tandem for the future. Both are new age 5s and give high intensity effort defensively

We have our PF of the future it would allow us to find out perimeter guy of the future

not Hill

Defense is suspect and just doesn't have enough overall skills

Really missing Pau's offensive mind

Would LOVE Marc. LOVE

I think honestly if Davis dedicated an off-season to strength training and added about 5-10 pounds of muscle which would effectively put him in the 250 range,  I think he'd be just the right center we'd need.  Athletic, shot blocking, rebounding, relentless motor, speedy and great pick and roller.

I think if we re-signed Davis and he added size, came to camp at around 250 or so, and also re-signed Jeremy Lin if they both pan out.  I think that would be a fine combination in the starting position for our team.   We wouldn't have to spend max money on guys like Jordan or Gasol if that is the case and we can focus on small forwards.

IF Davis keeps playing the way he's been playing he's definitely worthy of a 9-11m contract from us in the future. If he adds some size over that off-season up to about 250 we've got ourselves a weapon imo.

No offense to ED but he will NEVER be like a MMarc Gasol, in the sense that you can expect him to make a pla for himself or others.

Bigs dont have to be great on title teams but thhey have to be smart

Duncan, Bosh/Bron, gasol/Odom, Dirk/Tyson/Wennington, etc

make the right read and pass the ball, I dont see that from  ED

The peak is Tyson CHandler...but those xtra inches help Tyson play better defense and get to more loose balls.

Davis at his peak would be like a Chandler/Deandre type, and honestly with how the Lakers are currently building, that's all he'd need to be asked to be.  if he keeps playing the way he has and we re-sign him we may have a good center to do what we're trying to get.

Well a team like that would need a Durant, Randle, Lin or better at PG, Nick Young or better

i'm pretty sure if the Lakers are really really intending on going after Durant they'll probably try to put a center like Davis behind Randle.

I wish Swaggy P and Ed Davis could trade contracts.

His agent is Pelinka. He is not going anywhere next year. After next season we can "take care of him".
