I'd give Steimsma or Turner a shot.

Let's get Bynum. We need a sense of direction in this franchise and he's the one that could do it for us. He's exactly the influence we need with Randle right now.

Okafor is a realistic target.

Okafor is a realistic target.

Mitch could be interested in Okafor since he tried to trade Pau for Okafor last year.

Well he was trading for draft picks really, okafor was injured for the season and we would have been taking on his contract. Also that would have possibly gotten us under the luxury tax line.

If the signings of Lin and Young take up the cap space, we have about $3.1m that we can use on one player.

Last year we paid $3m for Kaman. Can we offer the same amount for Okafor this time?

Yeah Ed Davis and Emeka Okafor seem to be the only decent bigs available.

Ed Davis isnt a rim protector per se

Offensively, he's a terrible fit

I would really look at the best D league bigs. Sometimes athleticism and hunger, and the right organization and you can mold a young big

I had hoped up until a few days ago that we'd be able to put together a team that at least could make it to the playoffs and perhaps have a puncher's chance at making a push. With the trades that have happened (or rather haven't happened), i think the "puncher's chance"-scenario is out the window.

For that reason, i think we should go after guys with upside as well as guy who can help mentor our younger guys. I'd like to see us go after someone like Elton Brand, who'd be a good mentor for Julius. Keep Kelly as well, obviously. Other than that, i think we should sign whoever we can at the 5. Okafor would be nice, if he's healthy. Andray Blatche and Ed Davis, perhaps.

Okafor is one of the most injured players in the NBA. Dude hasn't played a full season in his entire career. He and Nash would be laying down at the end of the bench during games discussing where there families vacation in the off season.

Any better suggestions?

That sounds perfect for the tank operation for next season.

Can we try getting Ekpe Udoh or Ed Davis without too much cap impact?

Carlos Boozer just got amnestied. I'd rather see the Lakers sign Elton Brand than Booze. Despite his age, at least Elton can still play a little defense.

I heard the front office is looking to complete this championship off-season by adding Slava Medvedenko for the rest of the money that we got.

Ed Davis > Ekpe Udoh.

I thought maybe Lakers could get Ekpe Udoh for cheaper price though.
