Seems like most of us on here can agree the FO has no real plan moving forward and has decided to stockpile on picks with the hopes of baiting a free agent in at some point who will come here because they're the Lakers.

Whether or not we tank (the one we gave to the Suns is top 5 protected), we will likely have multiple draft picks over the coming years. Who do you think are worthwhile prospects in the 2015 draft. We can discuss the talent, post highlights, and debate who is the best to draft in this thread. This is going to be the trend for the next few years, so might as well accept and embrace it. I stuck around during the Smush/Kwame era and certainly won't be going anywhere.

Our Houston pick will likely be 20+.

I would call stockpiling picks a plan while leaving yourself the space to sign free agents a plan lol.

I'll give my thoughts after we see what happens with Gasol and whether we get Ariza or not, but if we end up being super bad or winning the lottery I would love to get a C or PG.

I would feel more optimistic about the houston first round pick. Their roster had been gutted by their GM, if they match Parsons, they have no more cap space for any real players. Parsons and Harden play no defense, Howard refuses to defend PnR, their next season is going to be something to watch. I just hope the pick they sent to LA is not protected in anyway.

If....and that's a big if... we land in the top 5.

To me there is only one answer...

Stanley Johnson

There's always Kelly Oubre.  But I expect him gone within the top 3

If we're in the top 5, the Lakers better draft a center.

Karl Towns , and Myles Turner. we need a Center. hopefully Turner fills out a little bit and can play Center, he's a 7footer. as is Towns

Kobe and Randle led Lakers lead the team to a 32-50 record. the Lakers select Myles Turner with the 5th pick.

Ariza is actually a better player than Parsons. And 15 mil a year for Parsons will cripple Houston's cap space.

Don't see us anywhere near the top 5 pick. If he's healthy, Kobe will do whatever it takes.

to shorten his career to miss the playoffs? im not convinced. who knows what he's thinking though. retire in 2 years? never compete again?

The Kwame/Smush era was nothing compared to whats coming up.

The Lakers are rebuilding while probably having to give up draft picks in 2 of the next 3 drafts and have Kobe's contract.

It's unlikely the Lakers get to keep their 2015 draft pick. The Lakers will be pretty bad, but you have to be bad at a really high level to pick that high. The Lakers were really bad this year and only got the pick 7th. And, I think tanking this season will be as tough as it was last season.

So, I think we're realistically just looking at the pick from Houston at this point.

Ariza will do just as much for them if not more. In a way Houston got better especially on the defensive end.

Do you really think Kobe alone can carry this team to a .500 record? IF so you haven't watched much basketball the last few years. News flash...the West is stacked. Kobe could score 50 a night and not come close to beating the top 8 seeds from last year. We will struggle to beat the Utah Jazz this year. Lots of pay back for teams who the Lakes have historically handled.

Utah could potentially be worse than us depending on how Exum and Hood play.

I highly doubt we'll get the top 5 pick. That's not happening with a healthy Kobe, perhaps a productive Randle, potential depth, and a coach with a system in place. Philly, Milwaukee, Orlando, Utah, Sacramento, and Boston to name a few...will all find themselves back in the lottery. If Kobe reinjures himself, then there's a shot. But I wouldn't bet or hope on it. And I would hate to get close only to get the 6th pick and eventually hand it over to Phoenix.
