Our brilliant dealings for today have significantly dropped our available cap space.

Did this dude JUST say J-Hill was a scrub?

Y'all were praying he'd get re-signed during the season. TLN forums are hilarious.

But its a one year deal!!   And that's just horrible!!! It's not like the Lakers have 17 million coming off the books in 2015. They've wasted their cap space for the next 20 years apparently!

what's the point of saving all that cap space for 2015 tho? Durant nor Westbrook is coming to a team with an empty roster.

4 million plus a room MLE

I like Clarkson from what I saw thus far

Oh yeah but next year we have more to spend than we had THIS season

How did you come up with that?  Kobe's contract increases, Randle's and we add another pick...only way we have more than this year is if we move Nash, not stretch him.

And we'd have to let Lin's contract come off too, not trade it.

Please explain your math.

So by my math - if timing right - Lakers could have $2.3 mil in cap roughly - followed by $2.7 mil room exception to add to roster

I'm pretty sure we're going all in 2016...that's with just Randle and Young on the books with any other picks we have between now and then.  Could have as much as 60M in space with Kobe gone and the Franchise Player slot available.

Need at least 2 other BIGs...at least 1 that can start...Randle should NOT be our starting 4...unless we really are tanking..

Maybe we can use the Rockets pick and Bulls 1st rounder or 2nd rounder by sign and trading Pau, and send Nash to Philly. We open up 9 mill, leaving us with 11.3 mill, other than the 2.7 exception. We could get Stephenson/Ariza, sign Bazemore with bird rights, bring back Xavier Henry, and sign Okafor to the Vets min. Its the only way I can see this year not being total crap.

Line ups

Lin/Clarkson/Marshall
Kobe/Nick/Bazemore
Stephenson/Ariza/Xavier/Bazemore
Randle/Hill
Okafor/Sacre

I think at this point we should just eat the last year of Nash's contract or trade him if possible. No reason to stretch it when it won't give us enough to add a difference maker.

We need to ship Nash with the pick we acquired from Houston. It doesn't make sense two expiring PG with [expletive] loads of money commited for one year.

why would we give up the pick? I'd rather stretch him or wait for him to retire. Its not like he is stopping us from signing someone specific.
