Payton:

the summer league PG Defense is real impressive, Payton struggled against it.  super quick raw players playing all out defensively 3/4 of the court pressuring the ball. all of the PGs had trouble starting offense where they should, they all picked up their dribbles way too early. im not going to judge Payton too much, BUT, he showed at the least that he's not special off the dribble. dont put your money on him to do much at all offensively this year ( although some people argued he was better than M.Smart offensively. doesnt look like it at all.) he looks average.

Aaron Gordon airballed his first two shots, a 10 foot flip shot, and then a 3pointer. EW. he also showed a shaky handle. he only had one nice play all game. he also clanked a FT off the left backboard, barely hit the rim.
every aspect of his offensive game is average ( alot of people thought his handle would have him making alot of plays)

Noel was real impressive. he looked real quick offensively, and displayed a nice touch in the paint. also looked GREAT on D , he pokes balls away and gets steals like crazy. didnt know that.

Gordon is SUPER young so much of it os potential based

herky jerky.  May be a good thing though.  If his shot stays fixed like he showed at the Combine he's likely a steal for the Lakers.

It's hard for me to see him being a better lead guard than Marshall,or Farmar this season.

However, I kinda see a little bit of Manta Ellis in his game, meaning he could be a pretty good 3rd guard in a good rotation in a few years

I doubt Clarkson would start right away but it depends on what he shows he can do defensively in the pre-season.   Marshall will always be the better playmaker imo but it depends if the Lakers sign Thomas or not, but if they don't then I think it will come down to who is the better defender in pre-season and more reliable at getting their own shot as to who would start.

Marshall can do just fine coming off the bench or starting imo as his playmaking helps either unit, but if and it's a big if Clarkson shows well enough of himself in the pre-season defensively and offensively the Lakers may give him a chance because of it.

Also as I said depends if they sign Thomas or not and if they land Carmelo etc

I doubt Marshall,Clarkson and Nash of course will be the ONLY pg options to start the season/training camp

I truly expect Farmar or Blake to return this season

I don't see Nash being here next year depending, nor do I see Farmar returning with the Clippers chasing after him and the Lakers not making any attempt to bring him back.  I think getting Jordan Clarkson was a message to Jordan Farmar.   And why he's drawing interest from the Clippers who just lost Collison.

And if Farmar becomes a Clipper and the Lakers re-sign Nick Young, they can continue their rivalry.  UCLA vs USC =P

and just as i post that Farmar is gone

RT @BA_Turner: The Clippers and free-agent guard Jordan Farmar agree to deal, sources, likely for biannual of 2 years, $4.2 million

Damn, Noel is going to be a beast. If Philly's frontcourt (Noel, Embiid and Saric) reach their potential, they'll be unstoppable.

Looking forward to seeing Julius Randle!

shabazz had a nice bouncing back game as well.   He didn't have Smart guarding him though but he also played with a little more freedom and confidence.
