Dallas REALLY needs to upgrade at point guard.

Once they do, I can see them coming out of the West.

They've got an anchor, Dirk, athleticism and scoring on the wings, solid bench, elite coaching. Only thing missing is someone to put it all together and make it work for them.

No doubt they're weakest spot is the PG position but I'd actually argue that they don't need to fret over that as much, especially because Monta Ellis has proven to be a good facilitator surprisingly.

The Spurs are the only team in recent history that won it all and had a great point guard.

Before that:

2013: Heat (Chalmers)

2012: Heat (Chalmers)

2011: Mavs (Kidd)

2010: Lakers (Fisher)

2009: Lakers (Fisher)

2008: Celtics (Rondo) (Rondo was nowhere near the PG he is today back then)

2007: Heat (Williams) (I'm actually not 100% sure about this one. I had to look him up, I don't really remember if he was good or not)

I think you get the point though.

Devin Harris was starting to look like his old self before injury.   And then when he came back from it lit up San Antonio in the playoffs.

I assume he'll be the starter this season and if he continues to look the way he was looking last year they're fine at point guard and Felton will be coming off the bench
