The Cleveland Cavaliers and David Blatt have agreed upon a contract for him to become their next head coach.

The Cavaliers also had Tyronn Lue as one of their final candidates.

Blatt comes to the NBA from Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Blatt becomes the Cavaliers' third coach in three seasons, replacing Mike Brown who succeeded Byron Scott.

Meanwhile...in Lakerland....

I wonder how he will relate to players, and adjust to a new game with different rules, while also adjusting to a different culture

Might've had a better chance if he had gone to a different environment.

Not a bad hire at all. I'd call it a move in the right direction for them.

Put this in the "who cares" column for me.

Praying for 1. Kobe's Health (a special 20th season, like he deserves), 2. Draft Picks Ballin (they better. Seems half the team hasnt played in league) 3. Miracle Move (We still need 2 more impact guys), 4. Hibbert (change of scenery and attitude sorely needed) 5. Upshaw (If he works out, mitch and jim and ryan deserve major kudos as the risk is minimal). Staples (some renewed energy in that building, been a total morgue last couple years)

READY FOR SEASON!

this. He's a excellent coach. If Irving does his late to practice giggle Blatt might stab him. He doesn't take shut like that. But his players will respect him. He's gonna be a great coach. I think we missed the boat on this guy. He was suggested by many in the media.

I do love how this is such a respected signing.  Cause if the Lakers hired this guy we'd just get 10 pages of unheralded "who?"

he has done well in europe. i think he could be a success in the nba, but the contract is a bit ridiculous
