This is interesting. I want to make this an official What-If thread if this first matchup gets enough attention.

Who ya got? In their absolute prime in a 3V3 game. Current NBA rules.

Ideally, you have everyone matching up with the player of their same position.

Wait, is this a 3 on 3? How about some clear instructions!
But if this is a 3 on 3 I'm taking Kobe, Bron, and AI. I don't think Durant and Rose would have it in them.

My bad, edited first post. 3 on 3, current NBA rules.

I got the bottom 3 as well. I'll post my explanation later depending on how active this is.

Kobe and Michael would be pretty much even

LeBron and Durant would be a hard choice, though LeBron could probably get to the basket on him every time Durant has that deadly range, being isolation defended by LeBron would be interesting.
Rose and Iverson?   Iverson could score on Rose in about 50 different ways and Rose has speed and strength and Iverson wasn't a fantastic man defender but he knew the word and was adept at playing the passing lanes and if Durant passed off the ball when LeBron was guarding him you can pretty much bet if it's headed Rose's way that Iverson would be there to catch it and would be on the other end of the court before anyone noticed.   But if Rose got the ball on iverson in isolation then he could likely score on him but Iverson was fantastic at timing steals so it's easier said than done.

Tough call really. If they played 10 times they'd probably both win 5.

Bottom 3 by far, Rose and Durant wouldn't be able to hang. Plus LBJ is a prototypical PG in this scenario and AI would nearly score at will seeing how Kobe would keep Jordan busy on both ends.

I think most people would say bottom 3, you might want to edit to make for more compelling arguments.

With the 2 best players of this trio, I see a much better match in Kobe/Lebron than MJ/Durant in both ends.

Technically it would be 2 vs 3 because Rose would get injured within the first 5 minutes.

Assuming all are healthy, bottom 3 is my pick.

KOBE. #VINO. BRYANT.

One row has a huge defensive liability.

I'd say bottom row. Also slightly unfair since it's arguable Durant and Rose haven't reached their primes yet. In their primes Kobe, AI and LeBron are unguardable offensively. Durant and Rose are still inconsistent at times.

Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will.

I like the dynamic of Jordan/Durant/Rose better than Kobe/Lebron/AI

Helps that Durant and Rose have the GOAT

LeBron over KD, AI easily over Rose. Jordan over Kobe, but not by much. Bottom team would take it.
