While he is frustrated with his own performance, his lingering ankle issues and the team's second round playoff exit, Brooklyn Nets point guard Deron Williams has not requested a trade, contrary to earlier rumors.

The report that Williams could ask out surprised Nets officials, according to The Brooklyn Game.

From their report:

Earlier reports have suggested that the Nets may kick the tires on trying to move Williams, affording them additional flexibility in the coming years, though the market is expected to be tepid. Williams is set to earn $19.8 million next season with two more years on his deal beyond that, and he averaged just 14.3 points and 6.1 assists in 64 games this year, no longer seeming his franchise player self.

A high-level Brooklyn Nets official told The Brooklyn Game that a report that Deron Williams wanted out of Brooklyn "came out of left field" and that Williams has not requested a trade, butacknowledged that Williams has struggled with the burden of expectation since joining the Nets.

"He's frustrated," the source told The Brooklyn Game. "He's not happy with himself. He's not up to his standards in the three years since we got him."

Why would Phil resign and miss out on that paycheck?

I doubt it too, I'm just mocking the Knicks tradition of acquiring these types of players.

But with Phil in charge (seemingly) I don't really see that happening.

May not be Phil making that decision though

Phil resigns immediately if that were to happen.

Now that I think of it, Dolan could easily conduct business in his normal bone-headed manner and simply use Phil Jackson as his scape goat when the media asks what went wrong. I see that as an honest possibility.

Would like to see how effective he'll be after surgery. Better to have messed up ankles than no heart.

Deron should lose some weight and take some off those ankles and try to lean up a bit more.

I believe he's never had surgery on them, just continuous cortisone shots and whatnot. In some way, and hopefully not for us but this is might be a rare instance when surgery might increase his trade value.

And at least d will does it at about the soonest possible moment as opposed to waiting and missing training camp etc like some pampered primadonnas have been known to do...looking at you Shaq etc.

Praying for 1. Kobe's Health, 2. High Draft Pick (Randle!) 3. Miracle Trade (Not yet), 4. Quality Free Agent (Boozer, kind of), 5. Brilliant Coaching Hire (Byron!...but the jury is out)
