I know that we've all moved on from the Chris Paul fiasco, but I know that we will never forget it. Was on ESPN and this caught my eye:

Houston Rockets owner Leslie Alexander, on the other hand, made it clear in an interview with the Houston Chronicle that he wanted Sterling to be forced out of the league.

Like Cuban, Alexander interpreted the NBA constitution to not allow the commissioner to have the power to remove an owner except for gambling. However, Alexander said he suggested to Silver that all the Clippers players could be given the option to become free agents after this season, a step toward driving Sterling out of the league.

"This kind of behavior can't be allowed in the NBA by owners, players or anybody," Alexander told the paper. "This guy has no place in the family of the NBA. Whatever it takes, we have to make sure this kind of event never happens again."

I know it's a reach but hey, something to daydream about.

Honestly this would change everything come summer time if it were to happen.

Some of the these people are funny. Mark Jackson said that fans should boycott and not attend game 5, and now the owners if the Rockets wants them to be free agents so he can sign him.

Feel really bad for cp3. Also head of players union...with no executive director...though KJ looks to be filling that role on an interim basis. Playing for clippers and trying to represent the entire union of players...with whatever the league decides probably not being nearly good enough for most.

Can the league take over the franchise? Like it did New Orleans?...even though for different reasons?

How this plays out makes this season unlike any other ive seen...and helps add to an already amazing playoffs, with no lakers

The sheer horror of that thought, one "basketball reason" has been more enough.

With what money?

1) Moving Lin & Asik just like they would do to try and sign Melo

2) If all Clippers players are made FA's there might be something else done temporarily to the cap for all teams to have a fair shake at signing

In 8 seasons CP3 led teams have only made it to round 2 twice. Never to round 3. Hes 16-24 in playoff games. Its not fair to shoulder the blame elsewhere as if hes not surrounded by talent. He has been. Besides, some consider him the games best player after Bron. He should be able to find a way for his team to win. Its obvious hes failed to do so. When are people gonna stop praising him as the games best PG and starts considering the commonality that the teams he leads always fail to be competitive?

The league can't force Sterling to sell the team. The only way they have that power is if Sterling fails his financial obligation.

I thought the NBA had a morality clause in it's ownership contracts.  If it doesn't, it should.  Most corporations do and it's especially important because the NBA, as a business, depends on sponsorship of one form or another, be it advertising or fan patronage.

I'm certain that most NBA owners have things to hide and secrets but nothing that could or would be too detrimental to the team.  Sterling's racism is detrimental to the the NBA's profit margin.  That's something the other 29 owners SHOULD have a say in as it directly affects their bottom line.

Not to mention, isn't this a slap in the face to all of those schmucks who claim to have been Clippers fans for years?  LOL...people are now looking at them like "so you're down with racism?  You're secretly racist?".  Especially since most of them jumped ship from the Lakers bandwagon anyway...

Los Angeles has proven itself to be a Lakers Town once again.  Even after the WORST SEASON IN HISTORY, everything comes up roses for them...

I was saying this in comment sections on YAhoo. CP3 should demand his original trade be deemed valid to Lakers since Stern is the 1 who forced it to not occur & sent him to a Plantation owner!

Seattle needs a team and has buyers with money; move 'em and give LA and Staples back to us!

Would require entirely too much paperwork and the players involved in that trade are no longer with the same teams.

He could walk away from his current contract though.  That would give the Lakers a chance to sign him outright this year.

Silver says he has not considered freeing Clippers players from their contracts

Mark Medina ‏@MarkG_Medina  45s

Would Clippers players be granted free agency after this season? Silver: "That is not something we are considering."

Bill Plaschke@BillPlaschke 3m

Did Silver just open the door for Clippers to get out of contracts if team still owned by Sterling? Wow. I think he did.

so what we need to happen is the owners to NOT force sterling to sell the team, which will effectively force the clippers players to mutiny and demand that they become free agents at the end of the season. then we get cp3.
