I only hope the Lakers can get Doc Rivers from the Clippers, it would be enough for me ..

He mentioned that he is not sure of his future in Clippers after the incident ..

The NBA should be extremely careful to be very legally correct in their punishment to Sterling though. We've seen how far the Westboro Baptist Church takes matters with free speech and the first amendment, and I'm sure Sterling would love to turn this entire scenario into a free speech witch hunt.

Go by the ethics codes that Sterling is forced to oblige while owning the team and condone the proper punishment. Anything miscalculated can seriously turn this into a nasty courtroom battle.

No matter what, Sterling will continue to be a racist regardless of what he's forced to pay. Let his generation of folk expire with their racism, and teach the children of future generations what wrong has been committed. The players and staff of the Clippers shouldn't suffer from his stupidity.

But anyways, if the Clippers want to move out to San Diego or Seattle, go right ahead. Maybe they should move their practice facilities to Compton or Inglewood to see if Sterling shows up in person ever again.

While channel flipping managed to catch on Fox News;  Trump and some other super conservative 'somewhat' defending Sterling, in particular I found it interesting on how one of the commentators was slightly insinuating that Sterling was set up and this has turned into a witch hunt that seems to be determined on him letting his franchise unfairly go, even citing Magic in collusion with the gold digger when the rumor of him wanting to purchase the Clippers arose.

Can't make this stuff, too good.

Clippers lose all their sponsorships in the wake of the Sterling comments

This means no more Blake commercials till Sterling is gone or Blake leaves the Clippers
It also means no more Cliff Paul.

Bill Simmons: League needs to look in the 'Mirror'(Stern) a bit.

We all knew what Sterling was like but the NBA blacked out the Chris Paul trade to the Lakers to send him there and make them a marquee franchise under Sterling.

Mark Cuban Is Afraid Forcing Donald Sterling Out Would Start NBA Down 'Slippery Slope'

DALLAS (AP) — Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban called Donald Sterling's purported comments about minorities "abhorrent" while saying he didn't think the NBA could force him out as owner of the Los Angeles Clippers.

Speaking in Dallas' locker room before Game 4 of a first-round series against San Antonio on Monday night, Cuban said he trusted Commissioner Adam Silver to "operate under the best interest of the NBA."

The outspoken billionaire said it was a "slippery slope" to suggest that Sterling should be forced out as owner over comments made in the privacy of his home.

"What Donald said was wrong. It was abhorrent," Cuban said. "There's no place for racism in the NBA, any business I'm associated with. But at the same time, that's a decision I make. I think you've got to be very, very careful when you start making blanket statements about what people say and think, as opposed to what they do. It's a very, very slippery slope."

While he was more forceful in his rebuke of Sterling in front of about two dozen reporters Monday, Cuban questioned how the league would legislate other forms of discrimination.

"How many people are bigoted in one way or the other in this league?" Cuban asked. "I don't know. But you find one, all of a sudden you say well, you can't play favorites being racist against African-Americans. Where do you draw the line?"

Asked if the league would be better off without Sterling as an owner, Cuban said, "At this point, yes."

I did expect more from the often outspoken Cuban but he went the safe route here, though when dealing with the discrimination lawsuit Cuban said he liked Sterling because he played by his own rules.

Anyway here was Kenny Smith's reaction to that

And here is NNL with Charles Barkley talking about how he'd like to hear what the other 29 owners think that aren't Michael Jordan aka the white owners.    Says that it hurts the entire situation a lot more if the only owner speaking up about it is Michael Jordan and maybe one or two others out of 29.
Also Dominque Wilkins on Sterling offering him a 'laughable sum' as well as Janele Hill still being the GOAT.

It's true.  the NBA looked the other way for years about Sterling and even ensured he got CP3 which made them relevant.

Stephen A tried to say if there was anything Stern could have done he would have when Skip asked him why a league turned a blind eye to Sterling.

But ... Stern did have the power to do something.. he had the power to not veto the Chris Paul deal and then send him to a Clippers team he knew was run by Sterling thus making them relevant.  Ask THAT question..

I laughed. Yeah...what are the chances a chick like that can ruin your life?!

I hate how ugly this situation is. A private conversation taped by a mistress of her racist BF to get back at him for the lawsuit his wife filed against her. Its a great takedown of a disgusting man...but it is making for the most intriguing problem the league has dealt with (im not counting cp3 to lakers being nixed by stern) since the officials/gambling scandal. Which they managed to sweep under the rug i might add imo. Blaming one lone official when we all have our doubts about the integrity of the game.

I'd also add game 4 clippers/GS looked to me like the Clippers have decided privately to tank the game if not the series and season.  And if thats the case its the beginning of even more problems for that franchise.

Sponsors leaving, fans not knowing what to do, media vultures...wow what a reality show. SO GLAD ITS NOT HAPPENING TO MY TEAM. We have enough to worry about.

Very tough predicament for the new commish.

My opinion: What this all appears to be is Sterling had this beezzy as a mistress/whore on the side of his wife. He knew that she was also gettin jiggy with black dudes, even though he was paying her to be his GF/escort. And from the audio it seems he was all good with that. But he didnt want her posting pics online of her and the other dudes because it makes him look bad and is not good for his ego/image among his friends/partners/constituents. If the guy cant even control his own hooker, how can he control anything effectively?

The mistress plotted and schemed as they usually do, and now dude is getting screwed. I wouldnt be surprised if the real wife has something to do with the entire plot. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Regardless if hes actually a racist or not, he will be whatever the media portrays him as. And its his bad because he brought all this on himself through infidelity.

As far as Sterling being a racist, I dont really hear the blatant racism everyone is claiming they do. Whats racist to me is Barkley saying "this is a black league". I mean serious wtf. Nobody seems to have a problem with a ignorant ass statement like that???

I admit I dont know much about Sterling and his past. I didnt even know who he was till this story broke.

But as far as the Clippers stacking their warm up Jerseys at center court as a show of "unity and solidarity" that is some major b.s. Just a way to answer the press core w/o actually saying anything and sticking your neck out to potential public scrutiny. If they really wanted to make a statement they'd stack their paychecks, not their tee shirts at center court. Until they stop accepting the "racist" guys money whatever they do means nothing. It actually shows they honestly dont GAF but need to play along with whatever the popular consensus seems to be. Politics killing the games heart as usual and ignorant fan sheep just continue to watch the soap opera and its new villain.

If MLK played for the Clippers and this owner was truly a racist, MLK would have returned every penny and suited up to play for himself, his team, the fans and the love of the game.

it is a black league as far as the faces you see. But I digress

It wasn't as much about racial dominance as it what , racial separation.

I must be imn the minority tat feels like in America, a guy shouldn't lose his livelihood over an unpopular opinion.

In this case , Sterling is the minority that needs protection.

i say to appease all,. fine him 2.5 million dollars, a year suspension, and sensitivity classes
