It's gonna take a few weeks before the Hawks get the attention that they seem to deserve. A lot of that is due to the fact that the national schedule over-looked the Hawks this year, and it will take time before some of their games get added.
One thing to be aware of with the Hawks, is that they lack the depth that a lot of the other "elite" teams have (and the Hawks are not an elite team yet, just a "hot" team to start the season), and that lack of depth will likely catch up with them as the season goes on, unless Mike Woodson starts developing guys like Acie Law and Randolph Morris.
With that being said, I still find it funny how much the media focused on the Hawks' bench, in making less than complimentary pre-season predictions for the Hawks.
Yes, the Hawks lost Childress; however, they immediately replaced him with Mo Evans. Regardless of which player is better, over the course of an 82 game season, these two guys will give you virtually the same production, and impact your wins/losses in about the same fashion.
Then, the Hawks added Flip Murray. He's a respectable back-up to Mike Bibby, and someone who could help bridge the gap as Acie Law hopefully continues to develop.
Then, even though everyone laughs, the Hawks still have Zaza Pachulia, who is a good, hard nosed defender and rebounder, and has been a regular in the Hawks rotation for about 4 years now.
So, the Hawks have a starting five of
Bibby
Johnson
Williams
Smith
Horford
with
Murray
Evans
Pachulia
being the top 3 guys off the bench.
(I also haven't mentioned Solomon Jones, who has been decent to start the season).
Throw in the fact that the Hawks have had another year to mature, have the experience of a good play-off series under their beltd, and had Bibby in training camp, there is really no reason not to expect the Hawks to have an even better season than a year ago.
Clearly, as evidenced by the 5-0 start, the Hawks are expecting to make some serious noise this season.

The Hawks, along with the Lakers, are the only teams undefeated as of now. I wonder which team will get the first lost?
Probably the best team loses last.
Hawks' Next 3 games: Bulls, Celtics, Nets.
Lakers' Next 3 games: Mavs, Hornets, Pistons.
We got the tough ones over Hawks. So if somehow we can squeak all 3 wins out, we should be good. But I'm looking for Hawks to...can they lose to Bulls? Then beat the damn celtics and go on from there.

Yeh I'm hoping they lose to the Bulls then beat the Celtics but I feel it'll be the opposite. I have confidence the Lakers will be able to pull out a W for the next games coming up but you never know against the Hornets and the Pistons.Probably the best team loses last.
