Love the move. Colletti has had the job for almost ten years now so it was time for some new blood. Friedman is young and I'll be interested if he takes the GM job or hires someone himself. Either way. I like the situation. Dodgers have deep pockets and now they have a super bright executive to help get them where they need to go.

Sell high on Gordon/Pederson.
Offer Hanley the QO.
Dump Ethier to anyone listening.
Decline Bills option and bring him on a smaller contract.
Tender AJ Ellis, we need his influence in the clubhouse.
Leave Puig and Kershaw alone.
Keep Mattingly. Yes, he made plenty of unsufferable decisions but there's many managers out there that would make the same damn decisions lol. We should wait until the Chip Kelly of baseball managers emerge.

Miserable time to be a Dodgers fan...Giants about to go to the world series. I think they probably beat KC, as well. KC will be rusty, waiting all this time after the sweep.

All the trash-talking and the fun we had beating them this year is moot - they own our asses again this year.

Miserable? Hardly.

I hate the Giants and their success but fact is the Dodgers are on the right track and nothing other team's do take away from that. Ownership is doing what is necessary to win while also sticking to their plan.  As fans we want to win, but you can't ask much more from having ownership that is keeping their promises.

For me, being miserable was cheering for a team under the McCourt regime. Those were tough times and I will gladly take these heartbreaks over that joke of an era of Dodgers baseball.

As for rust, both teams will be impacted from the layoff but it is not exactly huge (Royals 5 days off and Giants 4 days off).

Watching the Gnats possibly win their 3rd World Series in 5 seasons is about as miserable as it gets...
