Apparently Withrow and Dominguez are getting sent down to AAA. WTF??

Those two did well during the middle of our 42-8 stretch last year. I understand they want to give Perez, Wilson bigger roles since they spent a ton of money on them but dang come on

They have minor league options...

A player does not get options until he is placed on his team's 40-man roster. That's why when a non-roster invitee to Spring Training gets sent to the Minor League side, he's "reassigned" and not optioned.

Once a player is put on the 40-man roster, the option countdown begins. A player is assigned three options as a rostered player. Each year, when a player who is on the roster gets sent to the Minor Leagues for a stint of more than 20 days, it counts as an option.

For instance, when the Nationals optioned No. 1 overall Draft pick Bryce Harper, who is on the 40-man roster because of the Major League contract he signed on the Draft signing deadline last August, that counted as his first option. More on Harper in a bit.

A player can go up and down several times in one season, but it would only count as one option for the year. In other words, a player can ride the proverbial shuttle up and down numerous times over the course of one season and it will still only count as one option.

If a player hits the magic number and the third option is up, that's when the term "out of options" comes up. Once the three options are used up, the Major League team cannot send the player down without trying to put him through waivers. That, in turn, exposes the player to the other 29 teams, who are all given an opportunity to claim him.

Withrow>>>Jamey Wright and Chris Perez.

I'm frustrated with the Dodgers for giving so many guarantee contracts to mediocre guys smh. Especially Chris Perez, there is nothing special about that guy.

Chris Perez is a legitimate bullpen piece. 123 saves over the last four seasons, but dealt with issues last season that affected his performance.    Jamey Wright is someone I'm not a fan of, but I understand why he'll make the bullpen as a long relief guy.   I know MDI said Withrow is getting sent down but I'm not sure of that yet.

League was left in Arizona while the team went to Australia and I know everyone talks about guaranteed contracts but I am not going to be surprised if Withrow gets the spot over League.

Dominguez is still a year away from being a legitimate bullpen contributor.  His velocity is insane but he needs to learn how to spot his pitches.

All in all, our bullpen is deep and its good to have some other players waiting in the wings.   Withrow should have a spot in the rotation, that's the only move I would disagree with if he were sent down.  You also have to plan for injuries so the kids have to be ready.

One other thing to remember, if Withrow isn't going to get a lot of innings on this team (which is what would happen to League if he stays on the team), you would much rather keep Withrow in the minors to continue his development until the Dodgers need him.  Withrow is only 24 years old so with the bullpen depth, you don't want to have him throwing 2 innings a week when you could have him getting 4-5 innings in the minors during a week.

No Dodgers channel, no problem.

Online stream and Apple TV good enough to watch opening day.

As I will say again, Puig is not a lead off hitter. Far better suited to bat in the 5th or 6th spot.

Mattingly better figure that out cause it's not hard to understand.

They need Dee Gordon to perform because he's the only other leadoff guy the Dodgers have.  Crawford isn't going to cut it either...

I'm fine with Crawford cause I know he'll at least hit around .280-.300 if healthy.

Someone is going to need to step up, it just cannot be Puig in that lead off spot. Anyone but him.

Good game. Very impressed with Van Slyke

Gotta get my Don gripe in here...you have a pressing need at 2B don't you have to give your 2B guys a chance to see what they can do. Why did he remove Guerrero as a pinch hitter and then replace him with Baxter who wont even make the team. Stupid lefty/righty BS that Don believes in SMH.

My thoughts exactly when he pulled Guerrero. He's too reliant on that left/righty crap. That was the perfect time for the kid to make his debut and has more potential to break open the game then Baxter did.

I like the looks of the Game 2 lineup, but why the hell is this Baxter guy in LF?  Who cares if its a righty, keep SVS in there he was the entire offense in Game 1 lol...
