Happy for Byron, but just remember, a lot of people here were excited about MDA when he first got here too.

By "lot", you mean one?

I'll paraphrase some things Byron stated that I loved:

- Defense, defense, and more defense (he promised the Lakers will play hard and defend every single night)
- It should hurt when you lose; shouldn't be smiling and dancing around in the locker room after losses
- Not putting tough expectations on Randle, the rookie
- There are five variations of the Princeton - not going to run all of them but rather mix elements of the Princeton with other styles
- Post-players are important
- Being flexible by sometimes taking input from others (Mitch, Kobe, et cetera)
- Not letting the fans or the Lakers organization down

Those are not statements that Brown, MDA, or Karl would state. There was no one out there dying to coach the Lakers than Byron Scott. I'm excited to see what he can do.

Scott knows what's up, even more so being a Laker previously.

These last few years we've had guys who were happy to be in L.A but weren't really excited to be a LAKER. Guys like Dwight Howard and Mike Dantoni not fully grasping what a privilege that is. So it's definitely refreshing to see guys like Scott recognize the honor of representing purple and gold and to see three former greats there with him was just chilling. I've always cheered on any representative of the Lakers but I would be lying if I said I wasn't pulling a little extra for this guy

I agree. With Scott, it was genuine.

Hated last year.

We got Randle though...so we will see if it was worth it.

And today was definitely a great day to be a laker fan.

That was amazing to see.

One of Byrons happiest days in his life it would seem.

Praying for 1. Kobe's Health, 2. High Draft Pick!, 3. Miracle Trade (Not yet), 4. Quality Free Agent (Nope), 5. Brilliant Coaching Hire (Still waiting, wow)

I will support B. Scott he's just going to have to show over the course of the season that he's grown from the guy who didn't make adjustments or changes to his offense.

One thing that Scott did say thay was the most important thing over anything else was that he'd listen to advice and seek it and wasn't going to approach this situation like he could the others when he was the only guy with the ring.

That to me is the most important thing he said and we'll see if he follows through with that, if he does, its a VERY good thing.

But you said you'll never support this hire

Maybe excited was the wrong word. But plenty of people managed to talk themselves into thinking that MDA was gonna be a good hire. Just because you hate his guts now doesn't mean you can have a short memory.

I'm just saying, when the honeymoon ends and if things aren't going well, don't forget how much you loved the Byron Scott hire. I don't think Scott is the right hire for the job at all, but because he's a Laker and because I want the team to do well, I will hope and pray I am wrong and that he's made the necessary improvements as a coach and as a person to succeed. Just, if Scott turns out to be a bust, remember that some of us didn't want Scott at all.

I hope I'm wrong though.

Can someone link me to a video or a page with the video of his press conference?
