I'd be scared if i know the Lakers have no effective plan for the future ..

Until then i wouldn't mind Clippers being the face team of LA ..

As soon as we one another title nothing like that will come up , not even to Clipper fans ..

I'd probably wait for the Clippers to win 16 championships before putting them into the discussion. But they have yet to win one.

This. We still own LA, if they become VERY good just to get no rings, I don't consider it their town at all.

Meh. I dont give a rats ass about the Clips. That being said, the Clips being somewhat succesful isnt really a bad thing. This would give the fanbase the opportunity to weed out the bandwagon Laker fans.....kinda like purging the system and cleansing the soul.

The Clippers having a few 50-win seasons because of a player who was SUPPOSED to be a Laker WAS a Laker and ADMITTED he was upset he didn't become a Laker means nothing in comparison the to the dynasties that the Lakers have put together.

The Clippers are what's hot right now. They have an exciting team. But once the Lakers start winning again, whenever that is, and once Kobe (the undisputed King of Los Angeles and the most popular sports figure the city has ever had) returns then fans will flock back to the Lakers and drop rent money on tickets.

For the guy who said come out west new york is king i love the lakers but new york all day city wise.

Now i know that all of you r fans. I mean ur on a laker forum. My point is the young kids growing up that will one day be the heart of LA. Clippers could be winning over the younger generation. The kids these days dont care about 16 rings they already forgot about jordan they'r forgetting about kobe they think lebron is the greatest. Dont forget clipppers have atleast 12 more years of blake griffin so they will stay good. This could be the best rivalry in basketball right now if the lakers would restock not rebuild.

The kids who don't care about history or the NBA's past have no business watching the game anyway.

Most of these guys disrespect Wilt bc he played against shorter guys.

My thing is this, stamina to play 48 minutes and such, I look at LeBron and Shaq who  were too big/strong too guard for even the best defenders and wonder why their stats dont come anywhere close

That being said, you dont have to respect the history of film to enjoy Superbad

How often do you even hear a story about the Clippers?

nearly every sports story about a Los Angeles team is about the Lakers.

You barely hear about the Clippers in the media except for a few commercials from Blake Griffin and Cliff Paul.

You don't have to, but if you do, you will be better off for it and your appreciation of it will be far extended.

Know your history - ignore it at your own peril.

Never.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but Jim Buss is a part-owner and while he is in charge - he still has to answer to the other owners i.e. the rest of the Buss family. If he keep on doing what he is doing, which haven't worked out, i think the familiy would decide to put Jeannie in charge.

Nobody wants this to happen, not the family and certainly not Jim, but at some point, they have to do something.
