Very interesting.  It doesn't seem like a carbon copy, I like that about it!

Also the same reason a lot of people have been bashing this concept too, I don't think it is about racism. I just think certain people are put off by the concept of a Hollywood 'agenda'. I just don't like Jamie Foxx, I don't know why.

Yeah I watched the trailer at work earlier this week, this movie looks like crap.

I'm also completely shocked that Will Smith didn't place his annoying daughter in the title role like he does with his untalented son...

I'd much rather have Will Smith portray Warbucks over Foxx or whatever dumb name they gave him.

Hollywood agendas can go both ways. The author came out and said Catniss in hunger games was supposed to be bi-racial and the rest of her sector. But a lot of people don't identify with that, so they castes white actors. I just wish this race thing would end, because it really doesn't exist. Race is just an institution made up by our culture. It would be nice to see that race wouldn't factor into roles and the best actor gets the role instead of all these politics.

Well I don't know if anyone recalls the movie "21", about the blackjack MIT college team that was card counting in various casinos, well the books, the cast was supposed to be primarily Asian. "A Beautiful Mind" which is a favorite book/movie of mine had the main characters wife from El Salvador in the books and original concept, but in the movie the wife (who actually serves an important role) was cast as white. The main girl from "Drive" was supposed to be Hispanic, and of course Mendez in "Argo" was supposed to be Hispanic. I also recall there being some 'controversy' over Gyllenaal being cast for "Prince of Persia".

Pursuit of Happiness was fine, it was easy for them to act together as father & son.

Karate Kid was an awful piece of crap and Jaden was the worst part of it...

Pursuit of Happyness was all Will Smith, you really could've plucked in any kid and you get the same emotional impact.

As for the Karate Kid, many people didn't like it. I thought it was fine, but again Jackie Chan made that movie even remotely interesting. After Earth is what happens when you put that kid at the forefront, that and Shyamalan as a Director.
