That's up to him.  He has the tools and the work ethic to place himself in those ranks if he works hard enough over the course of his career.  But it's up to him to reach those lengths through hard work and dedication to his craft and the game. If the Lakers draft him and he works with Kobe non-stop and listens to everything he implements into him and teaches him then I have no reason to believe he won't be.

I wouldn't change it this quick. Farmar's shot selection still pisses me off and he's only a better defender than Marshall because Marshall is HORRIBLE on that end.

I'm not as high on Marshall till he improves at more areas in his game, but he is a really good passer.

Yeah, dunno why people change their minds so quickly.  What amazes me is that there's talk about Marshall's sample size with us this year, yet he's played more games than Farmar this season.

Didn't even look at it that way. Good point.

D'Antoni said that Farmar may start on Thursday. Since Farmar's been finishing games, makes more sense to get rest at end of 3rd/early 4th.

Marshall averaged 7 points on 39% shooting in February (with 9 assists though) and is not off to a good start in March so far.

I think Marshall has more of a future with the Lakers than Farmar, but from a coaching perspective I can't say I blame D'Antoni on this one. The coaches job is to try to win.

This. And perhaps coming off the bench will allow Marshall to regain confidence in his shot.

If Marshall and Farmar both return next season, Marshall should be started as his playmaking ability exceeds that of Farmar. But as an NBA player, you have to be able to make easy shots to keep the defense honest and make the offense unpredictable. If Marshall can go back to making a 3 or two with a few layups, the starting role is his. An efficient 8 points/10 assists should be the minimum stat line of Marshall should he start.

And I prefer a bench duo of Farmar and Young (assuming they return) providing athleticism and speed off the bench.
