According to http://Deadline.com , LeBron and Warner Bros. have begun working on a sequel to Space Jam.

EXCLUSIVE: What’s up, doc? A broken nose. Ouch! After he recovers from the injury suffered in last night’s game, NBA MVP LeBron James will be ready for his close-up — with Bugs Bunny.

Broadcasting veteran Dick Ebersol‘s sons have come on board to develop the sequel to 1996 animated/live-action hitSpace Jam as a starring vehicle for James, the Miami Heat starLeBron-James-HD-Wallpaper__140221234330- who broke his nose during last night’s game against the Oklahoma City when the Thunder’s Serge Ibaka got him in the face after a dunk.

Another Space Jam film? Why not? The first film, which broke ground for Warner Bros and starred then-Chicago Bulls star Michael Jordan and a slew of other top NBA players, ended up grossing $230M worldwide for the studio and even launched a kids TV series.

Space Jam I loved when I was little, and I guess now that I am older I don't mind it but you certainly realize how cheesy and awkward Jordan looked in some scenes. Not against Lebron acting, after all the bar was set low by Shaq and I've seen Kazaam and Steel, but he should've gone another route as far as basketball movies.

Does this mean Lebron is going to be secretly suspended for 18 months? Like Jordan was?

Don't eff with my childhood Lebron! I wanna remember the Toon Squad as MJ's team, and think back at Chuck saying "...this girl...five foot nothin'...blocked my shot...It wasn't a dream, it really happened!"

Good for LeBron. This film will have A LOT to live up to, the original was a classic (to me, perhaps not by the filmmaker's definition).
