Why? Lin will get the bulk of the minutes and Nash if healthy will play some and then there'll be a few minutes for Clarkson. Where would Sessions fit?

Because our backup point guards are a washed up 40 year old and a rookie who's not even ready to play the position.

True but I'd rather Clarkson get the minutes and develop in what's going to be a throw away season rather than give them to a guy who will be gone in a year.

Lakers: Wednesday's FA workout

By Nick Borges | ESPN Insider

The Los Angeles Lakers currently have two open positions available for their 15-man regular season roster and Wednesday they put several free agents through a workout to see if any are worthy of a contract offer, reports Sam Amick of USA Today.

According to Amick, the following players auditioned for the Lakers: Michael Beasley, Dexter Pittman, Greg Stiemsma, Daniel Orton, Bobby Brown, Toney Douglas, Ben Hansbrough and Malcolm Lee.

This is the second time Beasley has worked out for the Lakers and there has been speculation that this might be the team that takes a chance on the forward since the Miami Heat have zero interest in re-signing him.

The Lakers will likely fill the 14th and 15th roster positions with a big man who can play at center and a wing who can play at shooting guard and small forward. Of the group that worked out on Wednesday, Stiemsma, Beasley and Lee might have the best chances to land a training camp invite.

Mo such thing as "giving" minutes in pro sports

If Clarkson is better than Ramon, he would play. Otherwise, he gets to learn

That's not necessarily true at all.  With a rookie you know they are going to make mistakes due to inexperience that a vet wouldn't but thats a necessary evil you have to swallow in order for that player to gain the knowledge and reps to improve.  Learning from lecture, books or what you see is only 10 percent of the actual learning experience.  The majority of what you learn is learned from real experience not watching someone else experience it for you.

Trying to land more than a vet min deal i would guess by saying this.

Praying for 1. Kobe's Health, 2. High Draft Pick!, 3. Miracle Trade (Not yet), 4. Quality Free Agent (Boozer, kind of), 5. Brilliant Coaching Hire (Byron!)
