Am I the only guy left who will keep it real and be objective?

I feel the same way sometimes...

Just look at what you're saying.

Why did you cut off the last and most important part of the statement which was

Farmar obviously looks like the weak link during it.. so then the timeout comes and I'm expecting Farmar to be sat in favor of Marshall which would have made perfect sense.

Which it does make perfect sense.   We put the same lineup in and Farmar doesn't have the same fire he had that game and is constantly getting burned by Williams cause due to his hamstring he can't keep up with him.

Why wouldn't you put Marshall in who can effect the game with more than just scoring over Farmar who is pretty much not going to do much for you if he can't score.     D'antoni should have benched him when he saw that he couldn't hang and was the weakest of the group out there at the time.  But nope.. he sat the guy with the hot hand instead.

D'antoni made a stupid decision. Not the first time, won't be the last, but it cost us in this game which was winnable, VERY winnable down the stretch.

Marshall had worst plus/minus of any player on the floor

Meeks is the guy any coach would go with over Brooks

Bro, Maj ain't ever gonna give up with anything. Even if it's as simple as "who should the coach trust more? The guy that's been producing for him all year long (Meeks)? Or the guy they just traded for a few days ago that was just in the D-League?"

NOT when he's having a bad game and Brooks has the hot hand.   That is a stupid decision.

You're trying to go with "Meeks is the better player you go with him"

If Meeks is 1-4 from three and is having a bad game thus far, and Brooks just scores 5 straight points and 2 assists which helps the Lakers start to make a comeback if you're a coach do you think that the next logical move is benching him?

Think about it.

Think about it.

Nothing to think about

EVERY coach sticks with their vets

Why manu was in the Game 6 when SAS collapsed

And why Fisher was allowed to shoot 0 from 6 from 3 in game 4 of the 2009 NBA finals before DAGGERS

Coaches go with their vets

You have to be in the practices and film room and weight room to fully know everything that goes in those decisions

If it was Kobe, do you think Kobe would have been benched for a D-Leaguer

Well Meeks is our guy right now, been a rock and Farmar is a two time champ. Their professionalism is highly respected,

Coach did the right thing.

Missed fTs Period, no discussion

Wrong.

Popovich and Phil jackson go with their vets.

D'antoni is NOTORIOUS for riding the hot hand, vet or not.  And Meeks isn't a vet like Fisher or Kobe and can be benched in favor of Brooks if Brooks is having a good game and Meeks is having a bad one.   Just like Nick Young can be benched in favor  of someone else having a good game while he has a bad one. And this sure as heck isn't the finals.

You can't even compare it.

D'antoni's entire philosophy is "if you play well you're gonna play if you play bad we'll go with someone else"

He did the exact opposite.

if Marshall is being effective and Farmar is sucking and you're a coach that constantly says "those who play well will play"  then you logically are going to put Marshall back in.

If Brooks is starting to hit shots and make assists and Meeks isn't doing so well, logically you keep Brooks in till he does bad and then maybe you go with Meeks.

But D'antoni's entire philosophy is riding the hot hand.   So you can't compare what he does at all to what Phil or Popovich do.  That's just not his way.

Do you think if Marshon was going off for 40 and the Lakers were down by 2 that you'd agree with him benching Marshon in favor of a Meeks that was going 1-10?     Or would you favor him leaving Marshall on the bench with a near triple double to keep Farmar in whom if he had 5 turnovers and was 1-11 from the field and getting burned defensively?

It would be just as stupid then in that scenario as it was today.

yep, D'antoni should have stuck with him and Brooks(who had the hot hand) but nope... he goes with Meeks and keeps Farmar in and the Lakers lose.
They never had the lead, yuo're factoring in things that MIGHT have happened.

Not a coaching mistake, just not what u wanted to happen

What if Meeks was brought in for his defense?

Comparing NBA finals games with current Lakers' games is a joke.

Our season has very little relevance. This is the time for experimenting a bit.

Stick to the vet policy does not apply anymore.
