Watch & listen @ 12:17-13:14. Great stuff shared by a legend in his own right.

Also talks about Kobe's new contract @4:45, & a little about his buddy Steve Nash @ 9:49-11:14

Lord Flashheart
Watching Bill Simmons interview Dirk. At the question who is the best player he played against Dirk answers Kobe. Bill in shock asks REALLY?! SMH, you hater.

Shout-out to Lord Flashheart, who first made me aware of this interview.

Great interview, Dirk is very humble and knowledgeable about the game itself.

I'll never forget what he did to Miami in that awesome Finals. When LeBron & Wade made fun of him disrespecting him & he came back & just defecated on em' having ultimately the last laugh.

Yeah, but Lebron actually choked that Finals away. It was an epic fail and no one should ever forget.

^ Would you include his performance against the Spurs in his first appearance at the Finals one as well?

^^ I wouldnt because he was really young and his team was just not there yet. However, when he played the mavs he was a grown man and just played terrible, no excuse for that type of performance.

Also I love Simmons reaction when Dirk says Kobe. Did you expect something different Bill? I mean after the way Bron played against Dirk no way could he say Lebron.

Always liked Dirk.

A bit jaded though that he said IF he had lost to LeBron and the Heat that year, he probably would be a Laker now

OH well.  Great great player! :)

Kobe and the Mavs, there always were a connection. That's why people who were suggesting that we amnesty Kobe, then signing him again to a smaller contract (including Cuban himself) were crazy. I'm 99% sure that Cuban would've picked him up before ever clearing waivers.

Dirk is so loyal and humble. I'm really glad he won the championship in 2011 against the Heat. One of the most clutch performances I've ever seen.

Dirk in 2011 had to be the best complete playoff performance I've ever witnessed.

You know what? I've always told my buddies that dirks performance in those playoff s series was one of the greatest I have ever seen. Stats just don't do him justice during that run

Not a surprise. Who were you expecting him to say? Lebron? umm...the only people that say that prime Lebron is better than prime Kobe are children, fake nba fans that just talk basketball because it is a cool topic, and people that work for ESPN.
