You wanna' save the dunk contest NBA? Again, pretty simple, do this:

If you have to get non NBAers to do it, then so be it, point is to put on the best show possible imo. That'll get people out their seats.

Wouldn't go that far, still miles better than the NFL pro bowl.

Warren Warren seriously. Don't be an idiot here. That's not something you even try to joke about with another member. You know that's crossing the line. You're too og & a long-standing member to risk your time here over some stupid bull[expletive]. Keep beeing you, but just don't do that again. You should even apologize to be honest.

George did one of those.

^ One is nowhere near enough nor did he execute it as flawlessly either. Also took him more than one attempt losing some of the energy & surprise factor from & for the buidling.

You think those guys filmed that in one attempt?

^ Most of them probably not, but the point still stands. Obviously you try it more than once, you take the surprise factor out and it loses a lot of its luster and even then, the execution when he did land it to me wasn't as flawless as it could've been. Not everything looked 100% clean.

Don't get me wrong, still a nice dunk, but certain factors could've elevated it a whole lot more.

Well you gotta consider that these NBA players are mostly packing weight that none of those guys in the video carry. A lot of those guys had almost no extra weight or muscle on their upper bodies, allowing them to seamlessly move in the air like that. There's a reason none of those guys are in college or the NBA playing ball, but they could dunk like no other.

Almost two years ago I was easily grabbing rim and dunking off the bounce - at 5'9 145. Now I'm hovering around 175, a full few inches from even grabbing the rim - but easily a better ball player.

Point being, there's a certain body type that helps when getting hang time and elavation for dunks, which most NBA players don't possess.

I don't even think a prime MJ or Vince could do some of those dunk done there, and they're the exception to this.

I hope the all-star game won't be a joke. I hope players are competitive and play 4 quarters. I have feeling Durant is going to try to go off.

Maybe wade will break his nose too

The dunk contest, just because of the format, was terrible IMO. What were they thinking. The freestyle round looked like a warmup round. Only one dunk each after that. This seemed like one very dull competition. We need someone like a new JRich, VC, etc person to come around. I think Wall had a great dunk and of course not all the dunks were awful but the format of the contest itself was just bad IMO. Didn't have any hype. Even last year had more hype.

Did the new format ruin the dunk contest?

George, McLemore and Wall had the only three dunks worthy of being in a contest, really...and those were the last three of the night.

Yep, next year we need one more round after that one because I felt "This is just getting good now! Let's see what happens in the FINAL round" but it was over =P

The freestyle round is a hoax. Don't know how you could like it.

They should allow ballets from outside the nba to compete. Team Flight Brothers come to mind. Let them take on the NBA's "best dinners". If the NBA wins, money goes to a charity of their choice.... If the challengers win, they get exposure and a check for winning. Maybe do it at like Venice beach or like Ruckers....
