I love ... Love

But in my opinion if u want to win in the next two years melo is the man

Neither play d

Melo is the second best offense of player in the league

Melo has always won gotten into the playoffs till this year love hasnt

Melo can play 3 or 4 love is a small 4

Melo has 5 years in his prime or more

But anyway with current contracts do we have the money too sign a third star

Lets say nash retires we resign farmar and marshall
Resign henry, trade pau for two rookie first rounders

Just a question lets say we spend the max on melo or love fill in cheap good pieces arpund them whats the highest amount of money we can spend on another big money free agent

I say poison pill contract [expletive] out of cheap phoenix
Get bledsoe
Pg bledsoe/marshall
Sg kobe/meeks/ henry
Sf wiggins/ shawn williams
Pf melo/ ryan kelly
C ???? Jordan hill/ second pick from suns

Theres also vet minimum guys out there 1 year ray allen situation letting paul pierce finish his career with the lakers shawn marion couple other good vets if you wanna go on the two year title hunt

Love. We'll get him at a younger age and is probably already the better player. I think if Nash retires we'll like have money for a quality role player.

Love is still so young, and has never had much of a supporting cast. Melo should have a long career, given that be relies on his shot more than anything. If Melo loses that quick first step in the next couple of years, it won't be pretty having him at 17+m a year. If Kobe can help him preserve his game, then he should be fine though.

Love, Rondo, Kyrie, then Melo for me.

If the organization and Kobe could have agreed to like 15 mil for the next 2 years than we likely would have  been able to afford both.

Melo isn't going to net the Lakers anything but an overpaid 2nd tier star and early playoff exits for his tenure.  He's far from being the 2nd best offensive player in the NBA.  2nd in scoring maybe but offense is more than just scoring and KD and Lebron at it easily.  Love is a nice option to rebuild with but that lineup is unrealistic.  Suns aren't letting Bled go.

The likelihood that the Lakers are going to contend for a title in the next 2 years is next to none barring a Lebron signing.

Can we get a defensive anchor?

That's what I want for the 2014 off season.

So you guys really think love can get you past the second round.

Melo is a stuf a hoss in the paint with the right cosch cough cough phil jackson he could be top 5 star he just broke all star game 3 pt record. I want them both I would love a future big 3 of kyrie, klay, love but melo is a better player then love melo has played on bad teams in denver and got them in the playoffs.

Melo has never been nor will he ever be a top 5 player regardless of who the coach is.

Who's available?

Ill tell you the best defensive anchor avilable in this FA.

Spencer Hawes.

We'll have to do it via trade probs.

I wouldn't exactly call Spencer Hawes a defensive anchor, but if the Lakers insist on letting the retarded MDA coach, i think Hawes is a good fit.

Considering the defensive situation, there's two ways to do it:

1) have a defensive anchor like Dwight, Hibbert or Chandler

2) have 2-3 elite wing players who can defend, like the Heat does.

Barring a s/t with Pau that lands us Asik or Sanders, i really doubt that we'll find anyone. Thus, we have to go with option 2 - which is to get a couple of elite defenders at the wing and simply overwhelm opposing teams with on-ball pressure and trapping.

There's a few out there we should be able to get, such as Trevor Ariza, Kyle Lowry or Avery Bradley and depending on who we draft we could take a serious look at Spencer Hawes as well (not for the defense though).
