It's not just the dunk itself it's who he dunked on and how he did it.

??

That was a huge jam over one of the better defenders in the nba, who already had 3 blocks in the game at that point..

He took it back, absorbed contact, and then threw it down over fariad

Fresh off his 51 point game...

When I was reading these post I was like man this dunk is gonna be epic, its gonna be crazy. And then it happened. Not nearly as hype about it as you guys are. Yea it was over a good defender, but Faried was basically back tracking and out of position. I mean he literally jumped in the way of getting dunked on. More of a mess up on his part then Ross throwing down a spectacular dunk. The dunk had force though.

Xavier's dunk was better, I think it's a toss-up between this one and LeBron's for 2nd place.

Considering Dwight won the dunk contest with a similar dunk with no one there, that is a pretty impressive dunk.

There have been at least a couple I've seen this year that were better. Plus we're only halfway through the season. It might not even be top 5 by the end of the season.

Not that amazing, it's aight.

If throwing the ball in the hoop is dunking...sure. IMO, I don't consider it a dunk.

And the guy doesn't even really jump up in the air to contest it like Faried. Ross dunked from farther away, extended it much farther back and actually dunked it, didn't throw it in.

All good points, especially the part where he threw it in but since it counted in the dunk contest I think we should give it the benefit of the doubt of being a dunk lol.

The thing I think is more impressive about blakes is he dunk through contact and over the guy. What I mean is when he goes up Kris is below him when he comes down Kris is still right there. In Ross's dunk Faried went flying by like a bird and wasn't really any contact. At the end of the play Faried is a few feet away from the rim and out of the play. Kris was in the right position to block the dunk, but just got dunked on. Faried on the other hand jumped over out of position, creating no real contact (a foul wasn't called is what I mean by this) and sorta flew by ross without really disrupting the dunk.

Both good dunks, I just dont think Ross's is as crazy as some of you for the simple fact faried set him self for failure by having a bad angle and not being in the right position to make a play, which imo makes the dunk a little less challenging for Ross.
