How far do you think 06 Kobe would carry this current arrangement of OKC players, oppose to Kevin Durant?

Right now or in 2012.

Right now they would be #1 in the league.

In 2012, they would have beat the Heat in the Finals.

Kobe in his prime would [expletive] on Durant right now. Kobe was a bad bad man in his prime.

Kobe had already won three championships by this stage in his career.  His will to win was second to none, and he was superior to Durant in every category.

Kobe wished he had these type of players by his side in 2006...

2006 Kobe with Westbrook and Ibaka instead of Smush and Kwame?  What do you think...

Consider it basically took one player(Pau Gasol) to allow that Lakers team to go from a first round exit to three straight finals.

If you have 2006 Kobe with Westbrook and Ibaka.  Yeah that team goes to the finals.  Even their bench players Reggie Jackson and Jeremy Lamb is better than the bench help Kobe had.  And Kobe would still have Fisher so there's that too.

If 2006 Kobe was on the Thunder they would be a 65+ win team and strong contenders for the ring. You're adding a player better than anyone in the NBA today onto one of the top teams in the league, what would you expect.

Dude was a monster back then.

They'd be contending for a ring as much as they could.

Considering how the Thunder is structed, I don't think anybody could stop them. '06 Lakers had only -one- worthy player besides Kobe, Odom. Thunder maybe has 5 or 6, and two of them are legit Allstar caliber.

I reckon Kobe and Westbrook would destroy their opponents like Baylor-West duo did.

I'd say they win it all if PJ is the coach.

Speaks volumes about kobe in his absolute prime...
Pisses me off every time, when I think about how all those years were wasted :/
Meanwhile lebron is feasting on a weak ass eastern conference and a still inconsistent durant.

Sorry, I didn't frame the question very well. I meant the Thunders roster as it is now, without Westbrook. I've noticed alot of people been making a big deal about the tear that Durant has been on with "inferior" talent. It made scoff a bit, because I always think of that 2006 mess of a roster. If you were to put Durant on that roster, I don't think the Lakers would have a shot whatsoever at the playoffs. But if you were to put 06 Kobe on the roster with as it sits now, I think they would be first in the west and Kobe puts up god numbers. Probably an easy 33 points, 7 assists and 6 boards a night. Kobe did pass to his teammates in very good spots in the 06 season, he just had nobody on the roster that can hit anything lol.

I know I'll get flamed for it but I think it's a fair question to be asked.  Has Durant reached prime Kobe's level as a scorer?
