Stockton and Rodman were GREAT floppers...

that's not anything new

And the ionly reason HARD fouls were taken out, is because [expletive]as like Artest and Stephen Jackson brought that 80s babies thuggery to the NBA, and thee PALACE brawl changed EVERYTHING in the NBA

Plus, just the thought that LeBron could get INJURED from a hard foul while in the air, didn't sit well with Madison Avenue

i don't know about "sucks" players are way more athletic and doing stuff many players back in the day couldn't even do, especially the guards

we lost the great big men and tough players, but we got a lot of amazing guards and athletic dudes, you win some and you lose some

Looked up the numbers from 1995-96(the season GP went to the finals) vs. 2012-13

2012-2013 opponents points per game: 98.1

1995-1996 opponents points per game: 99.5

2012-2013 defensive rating: 105.9 dRtg

1995-1996 defensive rating: 107.6 dRtg

2012-2013 FG%: .453

1995-1996 FG%: .462

2012-2013 Pace: 92

1995-1996 Pace: 91.8

They even averaged more FTA

2012-2013 FT Per Game: 16.7

1995-1996 FT Per Game: 19.5

Only thing he's right about is that the game is less physical. Other than that Payton was just showing his bias.

all these old timers love hating on the new crop and their ridiculous claims of averaging 60 in today's game

Normally I can't stand Payton but he is right on the money.

The NBA is terrible now and looks to only get worse.

A vast majority of today's game is all flash and no substance. The highlight reels have taken over the league and it's destroying the game. I know a lot of you were raised in this era and don't know any different, and that saddens me that you couldn't see the game played like the beautiful grind it out team sport it once was.

Kind of weird for Payton include CP3 in his list. He's a great player, but soft as hell.

Just want to add that I wholly agree with his statement. The NBAs reputation has really suffered as of late.
