The New York Knicks have begun exploring their options in trading away J.R. Smith.

Smith was fined $50,000 on Wednesday for repeated unsportsmanlike behavior on the court.

Smith signed a four-year, $24.7 million contract in the offseason with the Knicks.

Smith cannot be traded before Jan. 15 and have privately acknowledged that it would be difficult to deal him.

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports that the Knicks are trying to get Smith in line with leaking talk of exploring a trade.

Yep, especially if Carmelo plans to come here, I doubt he'd want J.R Smith on his team for the third time.

Should've traded him and his expiring last season. Horrible contract now.

I don't think any team would want him

I've got a half sleeve of Saltines in the pantry, that should be enough for me to acquire him and toss him far away from the NBA for good.

I'm still amazed at the stupidity of the Knicks and just how consistent that franchise's moronic behavior is.
