D Will is no where near the same player he was.

Actually in his last 13 games where he wasn't injured he averaged 16.6 PPG, 7.5 assists on 51% shooting which is around his career averages. He was definitely starting to get back to where he used to be but then he got injured again which is the real problem here.

That said I don't think I'd touch D-Will though just because he is so god damn injury prone.

If the Lakers did this, which they won't, you can kick back their slim hopes of contending from 2015 to around 2018.  D Will is not the player he used to be, is often injured, and gets paid way too much.

Deron is injured more often than not, and he also has quit before. Pass

Unless the Lakers are changing direction and sacking D'Antoni. I don't think we need a superstar point guard.

If you get Williams and you're still able to sign Carmelo AND you still suck enough to hit the lottery then you're back in business. Williams is an elite point guard, he is injury prone however and that's the only knock on him.

His contract is atrocious however and for that reason it's hard to see anything happening.

He has the ankles of a big man. When he was in Utah I was a big fan he showed a lot of promise, but since going to the Nets that hasn't played out like I thought it would. Isn't a super star, but def a great pg to have and the perfect number two guy to have.

This. I got a chance to watch him up close the last year in NJ and his attitude is very sour. Maybe it was frustration from all the losing, but I want a player like Kobe where no matter what the odds are, he's thinking championship.

Even if he was healthy D Will isn't worth 20M a year.  17/8 doesn't equate to elite to me.  It's not even just numbers b/c CP3 has avg those same numbers and he's clearly the better PG

If Farmar doesn't keep reinjuring hamstring, i can see him putting up 15/8. For a lot less. But i see Laker mgt working. They want to get a guard and a big with the money they'll have. Might be easier to attract a big if we get the guard first. imho

Praying for 1. Kobe's Health, 2. High Draft Pick (Randle!) 3. Miracle Trade (Not yet), 4. Quality Free Agent (Boozer, kind of), 5. Brilliant Coaching Hire (Byron!...but the jury is out)

Farmar has never even come close to sniffing 15/8, so I'm curious as to how you "see him" doing just that.

So now, it's Farmar, Pau and MDA right?

Tell me this, is there ONE team with no garbage players?

It's ALWAYS been Farmar sweetie *In my Warren voice*

You just wasn't around then.

15/8 on a solid FG% would be pretty good...and wayyyyy beyond what Farmar has done thus far in his career.

Ehhh no.  Farmar is a solid backup at best.  He is not going to put up 15/8 on a championship caliber team.

Deron Williams just had bad luck regarding injuries if Lakers can obtain caliber of a point guard like Deron Williams Lakers need to pull the trigger.

As if his fortunes are suddenly gonna' change with our Phoenix-like medical staff and their great track record in recent years?

Kobe and Williams salary alone would take around 44m this offseason. How would we able to sign anyone else to decent contracts?

Time Warner Cable deal. Billions.

yo.
