Williams was really helping with the Tank thing... Now Kaman or Kelly will have to step up and do their part.

However given the team, not much effort will be needed.

You absolutely can state your opinion.

But you can't call people stupid and argue that other opinions are CONSTANTLY wrong when they don't coincide with yours.

Williams seemed like a good guy. Though he was always hustling out on the court, he just couldn't translate it into much production or hit the 3 at a decent clip. Best of luck to him.

Now it's time to find another undersized PF who can shoot 3s and misses a lot of them.

Arguably the greatest franchise ever

Re: Waiving Shawne Williams, Kupchak said Lakers couldn't get caught in situation they needed to add a guard but had 15 guaranteed players/

Shawne Williams was never a good defensive player to begin with...not at Memphis (college), and not in the pros.  I'm not sure why that was ever suggested.  He's a liability out there, and he shouldn't be (because of his wingspan and his versatility), but he doesn't put much effort at all into his defensive play AND he hates physicality on that end of the floor.

Free agent forward Shawne Williams has agreed to a deal with the Los Angeles Defenders of the D-League, sources tell Yahoo Sports.

The Lakers waived Williams in early January. The Defenders are the Lakers D-League affiliate.

He could move his feet better than Pau, Kaman, Sacre, Hill and Kelly ....does that make him a good defender? NO

But if he were guarding Melo instead of Kelly, it wouldn't have been a  national joke

I'm glad he gets to stay in LA.  He still ain't been right since his foot injury, D-league is gonna do him better than not playing anywhere.  Wish him all the best and hope he continues to pull things together in his life

I've always liked Steve Blake.

It wasn't that bad. I mean he didn't drop 62 on him like he did on MKG after all, nor did he even shoot over 50% for the game. Took him 31 shots to get 35.

And Kelly had the highlight dunk ;)   Melo was even kind enough to move out of his way. He didn't wanna get Blake Griffin'd by Kelly when he goes in "I believe I can fly" mode!!!  :bounce:  :cool2:

Thankfully Kelly didn't guard Melo the entire game. Otherwise Melo would have dropped 62 on him.
