Please Basketball IQ you are the last person to get annoyed with a repeated opinion.  And the Lakers aren't having just a "down season", they're on their way to one of the worst in franchise history.

Again, stop inciting, let people have their opinions without digging at them.

Great move. He's been the most consistent worst player on our team while getting more minutes than Hill most the year.

Not a big deal but I don't want Hedo here beyond the end of the season at all, if this is a prelude for that.

His defense, and ability to stretch the floor from the power forward position had earned him 11 starts.

However, he was one of four players who had to be waived by 5 p.m. Tuesday, or their contracts would be guaranteed for the rest of the season.

Rookie forward Ryan Kelly and guards Kendall Marshall and Xavier Henry are the others.

Nice knowing ya!

And in all fairness to bbiq and fido, while this season is tough to go through, last season for me with higher expectations and kobe going down with what im fearful is his premature demise was way worse.

If the lakers need a couple years of moves and drafts to give us another strong decade to follow, im fine with that. I got league pass so i can always see other games that may be more interesting, if not affect me in the same personal way.

Praying for 1. Kobe's Health, 2. High Draft Pick!, 3. Miracle Trade (Not yet), 4. Quality Free Agent (Boozer, kind of), 5. Brilliant Coaching Hire (Byron!)

Obviously, I don't really mind this move at all from an individual standpoint and the very little he gave us "stretching that floor", but from the team standpoint chemistry-wise, you've gotta' feel at least a little for the guy as well as some of the other players on the team. He seemed to be close with quite a few of them & vice versa.

I swear there are more gifs on this site than Buzzfeed and Tumblr combined.

They need a name for their early 2000s boy band now.

Congrats Shawne!

Williams was signed for $1.1 million, earning in the neighborhood of $450,000 during his stint with the Lakers.

That's certainly still no chump change compared to the average Joe & what not. Hopefully for his sake he didn't spend too much of it.

It seems like you are policing this forum a bit too much. If anything, I see you dig at people more than anyone here.

Mike Trudell @LakersReporter
Williams is very well liked by his teammates and the coaching staff. Always played hard, always positive (and funny) in the locker room.

My favorite off-court Shawne Williams moment this year: him battling Kobe in ping pong in DET hotel, talking constant/good-spirited trash.

Francisco Pinto @PintoLakers
Any locker room in the NBA would be lucky to have a guy like Shawne Williams. Best of luck to a good guy who always played hard.

He also somehow almost averaged 5 rebounds a game despite being a stretch 4. But his shot wasn't consistent, Lakers are gonna go forward with Kelly and hope he can bring them something similar. If not on the defensive end, a more consistent shot.

Did Shawne even ever get at least one Lakers highlights video made for him?
