Nash not seeing a doctor. They already know what's wrong with him; his return (?) will be based on how he feels.

Does anyone know how does this "splitting his salary" into 3 years work? Can we choose it any way we want?

For example:

14/15 : $850,000

15/16 : $850,000

16/17 : $8,000,000

Yep.

I'm not sure if it makes sense to use the stretch provision, unless we need the capspace this summer. I'm not sure if that's the plan. If we are aiming for Love in 2015, i think we're better off keeping Nash for his final year and having as close to a clean slate as possible in 2015.

Steve. Can't you see that nobody wants you here anymore? Get your ass out of L.A., go back to Vancouver and take care of your soccer team. That is all you have to do.

Is he returning to the retirement home because that is where he belongs.  I am sorry but why in the world would the Lakers not waived this guy? I cannot see any explaination of why they would keep him.  Unless Jim got an ego he can't refused.

who would be dumb enough to trade for Nash? Unless Toronto just wants him to be the ambassador of Canada.

Because it does nothing for the team if they waive him right now.

Nash is either retiring in the offseason or will be waived using the stretch provision.

Love the Nashter but clearly, his days as a playerr are over. He is a winner and I hope we keep him as part of our FO. We all know Jim needs a lot of help and he needs to surround himself with winners.

Nash just turn 40 right?  I mean seriously now. Who here even think he can play well anymore?  Besides Robert Parish who play ok when he hit 40 I never seen anybody NBA player that can play even good when he hit 40.  Not even the great Jordan.  Kobe know wasup thats why he will retire before he hits 40.  Only Nash are so delusional that he thinks he can be a decent NBA player at 40.   And Im talking about 100% healthy.  I respect Nash and respect his game. Always did but this old man needs to realized how old he is.  I dont even think steroids can help him.  This guy gets injured just by somebody breathing on him.  I mean seriously now.

That's actually an interesting point.

While preferably, he retires, realizing that the Lakers gave up a lot to get him and have gotten nothing in return; however, if this summer truly is not the summer we make a big splash, then it might make the most sense have all $9 million count against the cap next year, and free up additional space giong forward.

Thanks for bringing that up.

INJURY UPDATE: Steve Nash did not practice today because of a tweaked back. He is hoping to practice on Thursday.

KEVIN DING ‏@KevinDing

Nash is doing well, Lakers said, but "tweaked" his back, so he missed practice. Might practice Thursday and might play Friday vs. Charlotte.

Looks like Nash might be the 1st to come back from the injury list.

It would be great to have a "Nash-sanity" moment. Where he goes 9/10 from 3 , does a dipsee doo layup, and one of his crazy passes

medical retirement is in his future.

I'll enjoy every second he gives us as a Laker as if it's his last.

I'm excited for Nash to come back. At the very least, I want him to finish this season strong.
