I think Kobe's knee was injured since the Festus Elizi clash.

The most important thing was that in that 6 games his achillies wasn't an issue holding him back. Just him being in shape and having his timing down.

The easiest things to fix, are being in shape and getting timing back.

Kobe has had 6 months to train so I don't think either will be too much of a problem. Once more his health is the biggest thing and if he doesn't have to be the 'do everything' then I don't think we'll have to worry as much. Anything can always happen in basketball but it won't be the same way we worry about Nash. And I hope it never gets to that point, ever.

Last season had Kobe not injured his knee, he would be fine averaging 23-24 eventually. He just didn't have the game rhythm and no real preparation for playing.

vs Toronto - 2/9 FG 0/3 3FG 5/7 FT ------- 9 points 8 rebounds 4 assists 8 turnovers

vs Phoenix - 6/11 FG 0/2 3FG 8/8 FT -----20 points 2 rebounds 3 assists 3 turnovers

@ OKC - 2/6 FG ------------------------------- 4 points 2 rebounds 13 assists 7 turnovers

@ Charlotte - 8/15 FG 2/5 3FG 3/3 FT --- 21 points 7 rebounds 8 assists 7 turnovers

@ Atlanta - 4/14 FG 0/5 3FG 0/1 FT ------- 8 points 3 rebounds 6 assists 5 turnovers

@ Memphis - 9/18 FG 1/1 3FG 2/2 FT ---- 21 points 5 rebounds 4 assists 4 turnovers

3 good games : 20.7 ppg 4.7 rpg 5 apg

3 bad games : 7 ppg 3.7 rpg 7.7 apg

Kobe is still Kobe, same talent. Lack of conditioning, not playing a single game for 8 months will do this to you. You can go and check how Jordan played when he returned to basketball in 1995.

Hoping Kobe can get that 6th ring somehow. He needs to go out on top.

Man...Kobe and AI came in the same year and it seems iverson has been out of the league close to a decade already.

Praying for 1. Kobe's Health, 2. High Draft Pick (Randle!) 3. Miracle Trade (Not yet), 4. Quality Free Agent (Boozer, kind of), 5. Brilliant Coaching Hire (Byron!...but the jury is out)

i would say 62 in 3 quarters was the best. outscored the whole team, 1 man wreckin crew, just a beast and it was against one of the best teams back then (dallas)

Idk before the knee surgery and mental issues Gilbert Arenas was a [expletive]in monster. Him and Mcgrady are the only ones who could match Kobe's scoring ability.

Does Kobe average 25ppg next season? And on what FG% and how many shots? It's going to be a long year for Kobe with this cast of talent.

Unlikely.

And he should absolutely be on a minutes restriction for a month or 2 to see how his knee and achilles are holding up to the stress.

Im in the camp that says if kobe averages 20 and gets through the season relatively healthy. Id be content.

Preparing to see a brilliant players decline or complete shutdown im afraid

Lol at people thinking kobe is gonna fall off this year. He was injured and then came back too early and was out of shape. And he still scored 20 or more in half the games. Now hes 100% healthy and he's not gonna be himself again? The man would rather retire then put up numbers some of you posters are throwing out there. Also lol at kobe hissing to people to get him the ball.
