I think 6-7 is more realistic.  There are six games there that we could win.

There were five games that we could have won, four at home. We already started 0-3 on that trip. And now that Farmar and X are out, I doubt we will fare better.

After losses to the Jazz, Sixers, and Bucks, I don't even look at games as being ones we "could" win.

Can we stop saying the players won't tank as if that means they are going to actually win games.  It doesn't matter how much Nick Young or Jordan Farmar want to make the playoffs it won't matter unless they can outplay the other team.  "Kobe would never tank" Kobe isn't exactly good enough right now to do anything about losing either.

Do you even know what tank is? Tanking is when players don't play hard or try.  It doesnt matter if they win or lose. Tanking is if they just go out there and mess around.  This roster will not do that. They always play hard. They just happen to suck but it doesnt mean they will lose every game even if they try the best.

MDA is an offensive genius. I hope he sticks to his guns and keeps doing what he does best: Run and Gun. That's the only way to coach.

Incorrect. Tanking is when management puts a roster (and coach) out there that they know wil not win.

Players don't tank. Management does.

Professional players won't go out there and try and lose games, it's part dignity and part playing for future contract value.

Nike logo in pic looks weird going the wrong way. This squad is not ready for prime time. And going nowhere but lower

Praying for 1. Kobe's Health (looks pretty good so far), 2. High Draft Pick (Randle...injured game #1.*sigh*) 3. Miracle Trade (Not yet), 4. Quality Free Agent (Boozer, kind of, Davis, nice upside!), 5. Brilliant Coaching Hire (Byron!...but the jury is out)

Which is pretty much what the Lakers are doing.

So far I am 2 for 2. Predicted a likely win against Utah & likely loss against Denver. Now we hit the road and the fun starts.

Spoiler

Can't remember if i predicted Rambis inheriting this shtsandwich but i think this is more and more likely now with all the injuries.  NBATV now has laker game highlights usually last. Last!

The tanking has to continue even harder. As of today, we are positioned at the 9-th seed for the draft. We have to and we can catch the eastern teams at 5-th and 6-th seed and become a lottery team. That will means, we can draft the next Kobe Bryant or the next Steve Nash.

There's a lottery, no positioning is known.

This whole notion has to stop - at least I hope it does at some point.

Our schedule

Vs Jazz
Vs Nuggets
@ Mavs
@ Rockets
@ Clippers
Vs Cavs
@ Suns
@ Celtics
@ Raptors
@ Bulls
@ Heat
@ Magic
@ Knicks
Vs Pacers
Vs Bobcats

I say we go 2-13

That is very, very realistic prediction my friend. If that happens, we are for sure a lottery team. Hallelujah.

doubt it will.   it's the new trend.

Thing is, by February when guys are back it's probably going to put an end to their hopes as we'll win far too often compared to teams that are as bad WITHOUT injuries to be a bottom 4 team in the league.

Despite losing 8 out of our last 9 we're still 10th.  That says something about the teams below us.  If we're still floating around 10th-12th by February when guys are back we'll likely win more compared to the teams below us so that will dash the hopes and dreams of the tanking crew that will whine and moan whenever we win a game but also when we lose a game.  It's a vicious circle.

Either way someone is gonna get mad. If the lakers get a draft pick higher than they were projected too, people on other teams will be screaming"rigged! Nba loves the Lakers"
If the lakers get a pick lower than what they're expected too, laker fans will be outraged and say "the league has had it out for us, look at the cp3 trade too!"
