Any official news?

Nope. News sure coming out awfully slowly on both the closed door meeting front as well as this X injury. Pretty surprising to me considering the time we live in with media all over the place & twitter. Either a lot of people are keeping quiet right now for whatever reason (those that know perhaps not at liberty to speak) or nobody genuinely knows anything yet.

Xavier Henry's MRI showed a bone bruise in his R knee, according to a league source. He'll be sidelined 7-10 days, then re-evaluated.

"Good" news. I was expecting it to be worse.

Only a bone Bruise? Oh wow... that's very fortunate.  Very very fortunate.  But given the way he plays... 10 days may not be enough.  The dude is literally would run full force into 3 Shaqs if he had the chance.

Sidelined 7-10 days, but then "re-evaluated"? So in other words, those 7-10 days aren't a guarantee he'll officially be able to be back & playing right away?

The MRI on Xavier Henry's R knee also revealed some cartilage damage but "nothing severe," according to league source.

The way things have gone this season for LAL injuries, hearing "bruise" and "abnormality" re: Henry's R knee is far better than "tear."

Being re-evaluated in 7-10 days means Henry would miss at least the next 4 and likely 5 games at minimum (vs MIL, UTA and DEN, at DAL/HOU).

Looks like Kendall Marshall got a week to prove himself.

He'll need to take full advantage.  When X comes back he should never be point guard again, if Farmar and Marshall are healthy.  Health is the key this season as our margin of error wasn't that big to begin with. No more injuries or sicknesses or stepped on lego's please!

X will be missing 5 games at minimum

Milwaukee, Utah, Denver, and then @ Dallas and @ Houston

That's at minimum!   So Marshall has about 5 games to show what he can do.  Farmar was also experiencing tightness in his calf today so didn't practice(as a precaution) but will be playing tomorrow.  Marshall's gonna need to play well to spell Farmar's minutes.   Did see some hope last night with D'antoni giving Marshall come extra time in the 4th quarter before  bringing in Farmar to score(which he did).   So hopefully Marshall can get 17 or so minutes again.  Of course he'll have to play well, I don't expect 8 points again, but I want the assist numbers to go up.

That way when X returns he can be off ball and cutting like he always should have been.

  1. INJURY UPDATE: @XavierHenry's MRI shows a bone bruise and an abnormality of the lateral meniscus. He will be re-evaluated in 7-10 days.

So it WAS the meniscus... that meniscus was about to tear.... glad he came out when he did... very very fortunate..

I will remember this as injury season. Most injuries in Lakers history perhaps could be wrong.

Just caught Xavier Henry a day after his MRI revealed a bone bruise/meniscus abnormality. He called results the "Best we could hope for."

Henry is bummed to have any sort of issue in the first place, but no tear and a 7-10 day period for re-evaluation is a big positive.

Nash
Kobe were expected
Blake was unfortunate but he gets hurt every season
Farmar was too much and that REALLY hurt the team.
This is a slap in the face.
Add Pau, Kaman and the games where Hill SEEMS hurt and this may be WORST than last season.

Am I the only one thinking that all those injuries are fake and we are just looking for the better way to tank?
