There is something going on here with why Laker players get injured left and right.  It is not a coincidence.  Last I check Xavier is not an old dude.  The only explaination I can see is the MDA practices causes injuries to players. I dont remember any of these players get injured this much before MDA came to town.   MDA suck at coaching and also suck at having practices. He is a player killer and injured players due to his stupid fast pace practice

FIRE MDA!!

MDA is an offensive genius. I hope he sticks to his guns and keeps doing what he does best: Run and Gun. That's the only way to coach.

All the other injuries going down in the NBA.  In particular to guards.  it ain't just the Lakers.

It's all in the play style, were in a faster league and so running at top speed for games and practice is putting massive degrees of force on there legs. Put that with 80 something's games plus the force of dunks plus your own work out equals wide spread injury. MDA demanding everyone on lakers be sprinters is why our guys are dropping. Where running to keep up on offense every game then trying to keep up on defense.

Hahahaha defense, I mean getting down to the other side of the court and watch the other team score.

Mdas offense and the amount of injuries are not mutually exclusive.

Would not be a problem if NBA went back to big man basketball

^ Obviously it wouldn't fix the problem 100%, but it could help at least a little. Point is too much is asked of guards overall in today's game compared to back in the day when there was a greater balance with more solid to great big Men around the league taking more of that load as well.

Yeah, and it's a speculative point, with no facts or research behind it

^ Well it's common sense really. If more bigs were involved like back in the day, that creates less asked & less of a load overall for guards for a full season including playoffs (for those that make it). It adds up over time.

@mcten: D'Antoni said X. Henry will miss another 10-14 days*, is scaling back his workouts as he tries to recover from a bone bruise in his knee

I'm fine with Xavier taking time to heal. But given his past injuries and the severity of this one, it'll be a determining factor whether to keep X after this season or not.

Farmar and X's dates have been moved back to 10-14 days.

Just like Nash's will after the grammy trip.

Nash's date will be moved back all the way until the end of the season, in which he will decide to retire.

I wouldn't be surprised if Nash couldn't comeback until the All Star break or even longer.

They aren't coming back till we're in such a hole that it won't matter.

We're now looking at mid February. Before X or Farmar return.  Or.. not return.. get re-evaluated :)

What this means is more time for Kobe to get re-acclimated as well as Blake.

Edit: They just said on ESPN that Nash may return on Tuesday.

Xavier Henry says he will have a MRI on his R knee on Monday

Xavier Henry said he's getting an MRI on Monday but he sounded unaware about the 10 to 14 day timetable
