The story of Easy Company of the US Army 101st Airborne division and their mission in WWII Europe from Operation Overlord through V-J Day.

IMDb: 9.6/10

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0185906/

Though it aired in 2001, I feel that this mini-series deserves its own thread. It is probably worth the watch for those who have not seen it, specifically because it is mostly based on a true story and contains documented accounts from actual soldiers of Easy Company. Regardless of your political positions on the wars nowadays, I think we can all find an appreciation for those that serve and are plagued with bearing witness to some very difficult events.

Thoughts?

Watched it like three years back. Really good. Certainly worth a watch for those out there that are a fan of WW2 setting.

Have you seen The Pacific, made by the creators of Band of Brothers? I'm off to see that next. 8.3/10

I've watched this mini series maybe 3-4 times already. Seeing what they've been through makes you respect the ones in service even more.

Ive seen band of brothers like 10 times. I remember watching it as a kid when it first came out. Amazing show(miniseries). I remember also seeing one of the battles where it was at night and they were shooting flares across the battle field and I had a really bad fevor at the time. Was really trippy lol.

Also seen the pacific like 3 times. Not as good but still very good. I heard they were making another series like this as well with tom hanks producing it again. I think at this point anything Tom Hanks puts forth to HBO they love and make it instantly.

Don't compare the pacific to BoB not in the same class. BoB is a classic miniseries, pacific is not

Band of Brothers is my favorite miniseries; I could watch it repeatedly and never get bored.

Have y'all seen " The Pacific" ?

It was good, but I could never get attached to the characters.

Yea I have. IMO band of brothers much better. Pacific might of been good by it self, but I did the same thing your gonna do watched Band of BrotherS than that. In comparison I liked Band of Brothers much more. When it boiled down to it, Band of Brothers got me invested into the characters, The Pacific was just interesting because I liked the setting and war themed shows.
