Deng is considering to become a teacher when he retires from the NBA, so he needs to evaluate the pay for teachers in each city.

if you think kobe is more valuable than any teacher you had ever met, then I feel sorry for you.

kobe attitude of never giving up reaches to you, but I have met teachers that have changed my life, incredible human beings that take that [expletive]ty pay and do an amazing work.

I see where you are going, I really do. But to affirm that society could not function without star athletes or musicians, etc. is just wrong, I dont know your circunstance but I dont sink my problems into a sport player or a team, there are far better things to do.

anyway this is the last thing I write in this topic about the subject :)

Report: Cavs may hold off on contract talks with Luol Deng in hopes of pursuing LeBron James

When the Cavaliers ridded themselves of an unhappy Andrew Bynum and traded for Luol Deng, it was a short-term decision aimed at helping the team compete for a playoff spot in the miserable Eastern Conference this season.

From Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports:

"Luol Deng is open to discussing a contract extension with the Cleveland Cavaliers, but he also understands why the Cavs might want to put off those talks to first focus on trying to sign another All-Star small forward.

LeBron James."

Would James really go back to Cleveland, or are they pipedreaming? Lol

James has an opt out and there is much speculation about where he might go if he chooses to leave Miami. But until he does decide, anything you hear is unconfirmed as James has remained quiet and no one was predicting Miami his last season on Cleveland. But in hearing from people around and close to James, they pretty much laugh at and dismiss talk that James would entertain returning this summer to the Cavs. Which leaves Deng in potentially even a stronger position to get perhaps a four-year $60 million contract.

Dear God! He's not worth anywhere near that realm. He was once a great player but with all the injuries he's sustained over the years he's worth more in the area of 7-8 million at best

He's not worth 15M/yr, no question about that! but 7 or 8? Nah... he's worth at least 10M/yr.

He's still very good defensively and is averaging the best numbers of his career...

I don't believe this has been posted yet:

Veteran Luol Deng not happy about being traded into mess that is Cleveland Cavaliers

Deng has seen how the team wrongly caters to its young star players, even as they continue to undermine head coach Mike Brown at almost every turn -- and there's no accountability.

It’s been a true culture shock for Luol Deng since he’s been a Cleveland Cavalier over the past 26 days. Not in a good way, either.

Deng has seen how a team mired in losing since LeBron James left town wrongly caters to its young star players, even as they continue to undermine head coach Mike Brown at almost every turn. In Chicago, where Deng broke in and played nine-plus seasons, there is a winning culture where players are expected to act like professionals and understand that they will suffer the consequences if they step out of line.

As Deng recently told one close friend, “the stuff going on in practice would never be tolerated by the coaching staff or the front office back in Chicago. It’s a mess."

Deng was brought in to help clean it up when he arrived in a deal for Andrew Bynum on Jan. 7. But since then, he’s seen players get thrown out of practice, take off their uniform tops at halftime and threaten not to play, mouth off to Brown and generally act like spoiled brats.

Sounds to me like Deng may be interested in leaving once he's a free agent. :hmm:

Sounds good.

Reports say he'd consider resigning with the Bulls during FA. I hope he has the Lakers in mind too, but I doubt it.

Let's talk about Deng then.

He seems to have reverted back to the Deng we all knew before.

Which is a Deng that isn't going to be worth the kind of money he WANTS.

So the thing is he may wind up having to take that type of contract the Bulls were offering him that he said no to if he really wants out of Cleveland.

I dont know. The Cavs may end up offering him 15M/yr for 4 years. They basically have to, considering what they've given up to get him. Unless we manage to land Wiggins, Parker or Gordon, i think we should offer a 4 yrs at 10M/yr.
