I've said earlier that i didn't trus Marshall's shot and that his defense was horrible. Sure enough, he's regressed to the mean.

January: 12 ppg, 11.5apg, .435 FG%, .441 3ptFG%.

March: 5.5 ppg, 8 apg, .325 FG%, .345 3ptFG%

Marshall is a solid player and would be awesome on a team with a good defensive back-court that needs offense - like the Bobcats. But in LA, where we allow the Timberwolves to drop 143 points on us, he's the wrong guy.

I hope our next starting PG is one of these guys: Lowry, Bledsoe, Exum or Smart.

What improvements? From inside the arc he's been horrendous!

YKQWUU9.png

He's been knocking down wide open 3s. That's it!

Will he be able to sustain those numbers? Obviously not!

And you know that he's never going to sustain this "Obviously" how?

The guy went from shooting 37% from the field and 31% from three last year.. worked on his jump shot this off-season cause he's obsessive about improving his weaknesses and is shooting 44% from the field and 48% from three....

And you DON'T expect him to continue to improve his shooting?

I don't see your logic.  I don't know anyone that would to be honest.

Then you bash him for making an open three, same open threes he got last year in smaller samples but managed to shoot 31% on.... but is shooting 48% on this year across a much larger span of games than he had his rookie season and many more opportunities to shoot.

December:

FG%  .571      3P%  .556

January:

FG%  .435      3P%  .441

February:

FG%  .398      3P%  .432

March:

FG%  .303      3P%  .303

Everybody off the bandwagon now.

Thank you.

his shot sucks, take a advice from Nash or Kobe, needs to change everything in the shooting form.

the kind of shooting of Marshall, don't have a Parabola moviment, the shoot is straight to the basket and use to much the fingers in the left hand to give ball rotation.

Marshall has a inefficient shooting form, but he was efficient in the begining of the season. Imo needs to change his shooting form, specially the release of the ball.

We should have traded him when we had the chance. He could have given us a second rounder in this year's draft.

probably too late to change his shooting form that much.  Hes been shooting that way his entire life.

We could still trade him. We have a team option on him next year I believe.

Marshall is a good assist person. The best the Lakers have. But his defense is really bad. And when Kobe comes back to the line up we will have one player barely playing defense. So if Kobe and Marshall are both on the floor - it will be 5 on 3 basically.

I am not worried about Marshall's regression if any. As the losses keep piling up it is hard to play with the same energy.

To be a part of Lakers' future Marshall needs to commit to learn defense. Currently he has this pony like gait that is nonathletic, slow and ineffective. We were unhappy how DFish used to be a liability on defense. Even at a younger age Marshall is just worse.

Manic Harris should've been signed instead of Marshall.

Didn't Harris drop 70 points in the D-League?

Marshall's back baby! 13 & 11 tonight on 6 out of 9 shooting. 2nd highest + at 30 on the team along with Kaman at +31 as well. He even shut down Eric Bledsoe holding him to a pathetic & miserable 1-9 shooting night.

You know what this means!! it means Farmar is coming back next game to mess with his minutes again!   :D

But really his shot will come and go, he'll be hot or in a slump.  But his effectiveness will always lay in his ability to get the team involved and the offense flowing. If he went two months only averaging 3 assists as a starter then I'd worry.  Long as he remains in that 8-10 range per game(whenever he gets more than 30 mins) I got no issues.

Baze has really calmed down a bit on the ball stopping(though it still exists) but they seem to have found a bit of a flow and of course Kaman was killing them on the pick and roll all night like him and Gasol used to.  More importantly, he started finishing at the rim with confidence again which he did when he first got here but had gotten away from.   Hopefully he stays there and continues to work on that floater.  He'll need it.
