I really like how they are making advances in robotics, really cool.

But only if it's to help the human, not take his job...

We are beginning to see limitations in terms of hardware. The advancements in robotics will be, in large, due to improvements in software. Checkout IBM's Watson 2.0, in which they are working on artificial intelligence that can detect human emotions based on their facial expressions through cameras (e.g. a wink = joking), and debate and reason by 3.0 . This is the robot that beat the best person in Jeapordy through artificial intelligence.

It makes me wonder, 50 years from now, how sentient will machines be? Will this:

Be considered "abuse" at some point in the future, given massive advancement in AI?

Those are all interesting questions no doubt. Let's see if we (you & I) live long enough to see it.

Even that robot gif you posted gives me the creeps. Those legs give me the feel of an oversized fly or insect of some sort. Ughh

I'll tell you this, if I see one of those 4-legged things on my property, I'm making use of the 7.62x39mm HEI (almost $5 per round).

If AI were created by us and legitimately sentient, humans would be creators of life, exclusive of reproduction. That would be interesting.

I'd use a 7.62 x 54R that cuts through a car rotor clean. Lol
