A San Diego couple were set to exchange wedding vows this Sunday after months of preparation until it was abruptly canceled, and they have Kobe Bryant to blame.

According to reports, 28 year old Simon Bradley, a self-described ‘obsessed’ Laker fan decided to post-pone his wedding so he can attend Kobe Bryant’s highly anticipated return to the court from a torn Achilles this Sunday at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

The man promised his finance Melissa they will set a future date, but we’re going to assume it will be after the season.

The couple, who were set to wed at the Banquet Hall inside the Marina Village inconvenienced about 60 guests.

Lakers host the Toronto Raptors Sunday at Staples Center, the game will be nationally televised on NBA-TV.

If it's meant to be, she'll understand. You don't want a wife who would deny you that anyway Simon, this is a test to see if this "Melissa" is really the right one. At least that's how I'm going to attempt to justify that move lol

He'd better take his wife with him.

If he is an "obsessed Lakers fan" as described, the wife better understand because he will be hogging the television every night

I wouldn't do it. Seriously, over 1 game? He can always put the game on at the wedding reception after

And in all honesty, I would have gone through with the wedding.  Why not all watch the game and make it a part of the reception and then knowing that the day I married the woman I love is potentially also one of the most triumphant days in one of my favorite sports franchise histories...

If ALL goes well I could literally say that my wife and I got married and our anniversary is the same day that Kobe returned to the Lakers.

THAT is what's special.

Him canceling and missing out on that chance is a noob move.

If we are being serious here, then yeah it was a stupid move. I would never cancel my wedding for something like this.

I'd like to think I'm a pretty big Lakers fan, but no way I would ever skip my own wedding to watch a game. What's he gonna do when Kobe retires? Push his child back in inside the delivery room to watch Kobe's last game?

Kobe should have a serious talk with him & let him know kindly that he's flattered, but that he needs to seriously keep his priorities in check. Knock some sense into him if need be.

Whoever this man is, he's not the sharpest tool in the shed. I do respect his decision however.
