It's bizzare

I think that the lakers are looking to trade kaman

Not sure what we'd get for him.

Can't wait for the day when Nick Young stops mumbling and opens his mouth when he talks.

LOL but I love that about Young

The difference in the defense with Rambis coaching it, has been noticeable since the first pre-season game.

Thought they could come home 2-1 on this roadie and they did.  Acceptable for now, but in a month losses like that Washington one cannot happen.

Not scare of Portland at all.  They have the same problem winning in L.A. that the Lakers do winning in Portland.  They match up well with the Blazers.

Better record than last year right? I think we were 8-9.

The Heat were 9-8 in their first year as the big 3

Not sure what we'd get for him.

He has an easy contract

He can be a servicable center
I think teams would want him

Knicks maybe?

Kaman should stay as an insurance policy. Hill and Gasol aren't great at staying healthy.

Would anyone mind summarizing the game? I was too busy with school to watch.

We were getting killed in the inside by Piston. Wesley Johnson and Shawn Williams kept us in the game while Pistons shot poorly from the freethrow line. We were down 10 going into the fourth and then our late defense kicked in to win the game.

Would anyone mind summarizing the game? I was too busy with school to watch.

The entire first half, the Pistons did not score a single point outside the paint. The Lakers interior defense was horrendous to watch. In the rare cases they did get a stop, the Pistons would get an offensive rebound and convert. Wes Johnson was simply amazing. Defense (multiple blocks) AND offense. I believe he was 6-7 from 3 point range.

The end of the half was amazing! The same out of bounds alley oop play from last year. Instead of Kobe to Clark, it was Blake to Wes. That gave us a 1 point lead.

Third quarter the Pistons continued attacking the paint but also got some midrange shots to fall in. A three went in as well.

Wes and Williams were keeping us in the game. Down by 10 going into the 4th.

4th quarter our interior defense improved. Wes came in late but didn't attempt another shot. In one possession, Gasol got two offensive rebounds that finally ended with a Farmar layup. Farmar soon turned the ball over but redeemed himself by stealing it and making a 3. Young made a layup. Farmar hit a jumpshot and the Lakers climbed out of the 10 point deficit and went up by 2. They kept missing shots and on the other side Gasol got fouled. Made 1/2 FT to put us up three. Then Farmar fouls Jennings on a 3. Fortunately Jennings only converted on 1, giving the Lakers a 2 point lead. Foul game now. Pistons quickly foul Farmar but he missed BOTH free throws. Stuckey missed a jumpshot and Smith soon gets called on an offensive foul with Nick Young drawing the charge. Then Young seals the game with 2 more free throws.

Lakers ultimately outscored the Pistons 29-15 in the 4th. Wes (27 points) and Williams (20 points) were exceptional on both ends of the floor. Gasol was alright but his offensive rebounding late in the game were key. The Farmar/Young duo was crucial in icing the game.

Dantoni once again chose to play Sacre over Kaman. Hill suffered a mild sprain on his left ankle. He should be alright.

Lakers need to work on their:

1) Interior defense

2) Rebounding (at least prevent the other team from those offensive rebounds. Pistons had 22 offensive rebounds and about 80 points in the paint!)

Lakers are now 9-8, same record as the Warriors.

Next up is a home game against Portland on Sunday!

Sacre was doing alright on offense though. We really need Hill to step up this sunday. We cant let that awful defense to happen again.
