Lakers and Kobe should've of definetely bargain Kobe to make more a paycut for the future. I love Kobe nut damn paying him $25+ mill in each of the next two season is alot money. I'd assume this takes Lakers out the running for acquiring two stars this off season and really only gunning for one which would be Carmelo Anthony

On a side not, how boss is it that he just signed a 20+ Million Dollar contract in a sports jacket.

Kobe will still be NBA's highest-paid player, according to sources. He'll total between $40 mill and $50 mill his last 2 seasons.

Between 40 and 50 in two seasons, per Bresnahan. But WOW,2 more years of Kobe,I'm euphoric.

Lmaaaaaaaoooo wow...this is horrible news for our cap space.  Well one thing we do know this probably means they probably have little interest in pursuing Carmelo at this point lol.  Thats great news to me.

While I am shocked at the extension amount, the Lakers front office knows something we don't.

You don't just do this extension without a plan.

This almost guarantees Steve Nash will meet the stretch provision, but we'll see.

Nash will be on the books but he'll be off the team we save $6mil/yr for the duration of his contract

Happy to have Kobe obviously. But... On the surface that looks like a horrible contract for the Lakers  :smh: They must have something in mind, there's no way they'd do this without knowing something we don't.
