I am sure that my season ticket money will get some awesome players for the Angels this year.  If only they could supplant the Pujols and Blanton contracts that have already been handed out.

^ Kinda heard about that, but the Mariners have often and once again here, come off as kinda desperate to me. I just don't see them going anywhere relevant enough anytime soon. That franchise has been down for too long and it takes a number of dramatically significant transactions to finally turn the tide. Credit to them for trying though, but I'll believe them getting better when I actually see it on the field for a change.

Seattle has not offered that much

right now its looking like they may go to 250 million but i haven't herd anything above 300 million being offered

http://www.mlbtrader...-yesterday.html

"The Mariners may have even made an offer worth more money than the Yanks' offer to Cano, the source added. The Yankees are set firm on a deal worth $165-170 million over seven years while Cano's latest demand was for a nine-year pact worth $260 million that also includes a $28 million vesting option for a 10th year."

While attention on Cano publicly has been w/ #Yankees & #Mariners I still think they'll be 3rd team and will never count out either LA team

^ I still don't think the Dodgers, Angels, nor any team prioritize Cano so highly. Pitching comes first damn it! Then you fill the rest.

They still wouldn't win a world series. It's gonna' take a lot more for that franchise to turn things around.

Yeah, but as a franchise and the players on the team collectively, they don't have that great postseason experience to begin with. They wouldn't be properly prepared to win it all so soon on the first try. They'd have to make it at least a few times almost consecutively if possible just to potentially get over the hump.

^ I definitely do, but my point isn't a bad one. Postseason experience or lack-thereof isn't something you just overlook or take for granted. It's a factor that must be considered.

Hypothetically speaking, let's say the Mariners became really good & all & finally made the postseason, as good as they could be, would you seriously trust them more over teams like Boston & St. Louis? Those teams are proven with a great track record. That brings legitimacy. Seattle? Not so much.
