Kobe-Melo-Embiid

Hopefully Nash retires

Add some guys like:
Jordan Farmar
Nick Young
Jordan Hill
Xavier Henry
Wes Johnson
Avery Bradley

And this interesting:
So Zach Randolph wants to opt out of his contract, maybe he's the kind of guy that can persuaded to come to LA and take less to be here and compete for a ring.

All hypothetical and a lot would have to go right, but....

Avery Bradley/Jordan Farmar
Kobe Bryant/Young/Xavier
Carmelo Anthony/Wes/Young
Zach Randolph/Hill/Kelly
Joel Embiid/Sacre

:)

If what is being reported is true Lakers won't even add Carmelo to the roster if it costs the max since their not high on him like they are with Kevin Love.  Will see this summer but Carmelo might be a long shot possibility for the Lakers now

He isn't worth more than anybody making 14-15M right now IMO.

I think that nobody should be getting paid more than LeBron, but then I said that about Kobe and they are still paying him more than LeBron.

$17-18m for Melo.

$17 million for Melo works.

That'd allow us to build an actual NBA team around him and not some first round exit.

I just don't want Melo at all unless we're giving him a 3 year contract. Too old for a max deal.

Pass on melo. He isn't a max player here. Elsewhere he can get that. Also would rather see a younger player take the money.

He'd be leaving 50+ million of guaranteed money on the table by accepting that.

Not happening.

Is Lebron too old for a max deal?

That is why New York, Los Angeles, where he has a home, and even Chicago are on his short list, according to a source. The source said the Clippers — with buddy Chris Paul — are more attractive than the Lakers, though the purple-and-gold have cap space and the Clips don’t. The Lakers also have coach Mike D’Antoni, for now. It’s hard to imagine Anthony wanting to play for him again, not after the battle they went through in New York. Of course, there is no guarantee D’Antoni will be around.

The Clippers would need to do a sign-and-trade to net Anthony, likely with Blake Griffin. The Knicks only would appease Anthony if a threat existed of losing him for nothing to a team with cap space. The Bulls would intrigue Anthony, too, because he has a lot of respect for coach Tom Thibodeau, according to a source.

But Anthony’s preference is to remain with the Knicks if he sees a solid plan in place — one that could include Kevin Love in 2015. It was one of the chief reasons president Steve Mills was hired and Glen Grunwald fired. Owner James Dolan and his lieutenants thought Mills could convince Anthony of their future plan better than Grunwald, who didn’t have a relationship with Anthony.

The Knicks have been a playoff team in three previous seasons with Anthony as their top player and for three successive seasons they’ve increased their win total.  This year, however, they are headed in the opposite direction, and the current state of the franchise could determine whether Anthony, who intends to opt out of his contract on July 1, re-signs with the Knicks.

Anthony’s former teammate, who requested anonymity, echoed the thoughts of several people close to Anthony who believe he’s ready to leave.

Still, the Knicks have the ace in the hole; they can offer Anthony approximately $30 million more than any other team under the rules of the collective bargaining agreement. Money still talks in the NBA, and it’s hard to believe Anthony will walk away from a lucrative contract.

Funny how these articles make it seem like this is breaking news.  Any team that can possibly sign him outright or do a sign and trade for him he's either going to be interested in or they will have some level of interest.  The Bulls might do it but don't see them coming off of Butler and Gibson and possibly future assets to sign him.  Gutting your team for Carmelo would stupid.  Considering you'd have to let Deng go too.

Clippers are in the same boat.  If Im the Clippers Blake is more valuable to me than Anthony.

Us? We really don't need to lock our cap up with him.

Dallas might be his best option.

Jerry Reinsdorf is one of the cheapest owners in the league. He really only cares about his White Sox, and uses the Bulls only for the money they make. They aren't getting Carmelo.

The Clippers trade is fanatasy land. It's only because of the CP3 toast in New York that they even still bring them up.

Real sources say that the Lakers and the Knicks are the only real options.

Clippers could get Melo, if they trade Griffin, which I don't see happening.

Lakers I don't see paying him so unless he's taking a paycut, not happening.

Chicago actually might work (and I've said it's a move that the Bulls need). Send Deng, Gibson, Butler and a future first to NY for Melo/Shumpert

What makes you think he'll come here ? He'll have a better shot at winning a title in the next few years with the Clippers, not the Lakers.

What makes anyone think that the Clippers are going to trade Blake for Melo. That's the only way they can get him.
