Sigh.... Melo's been having to play 40+ a game even with their full lineup.

So Melo and Felton both hurt.  The Nuggets are just laughing right now.

LeBron is playing the lowest minutes per game of his career.

Newest news is that the Lakers if they were to make an offer to Carmelo that it WOULDN'T be the max deal.

So the question right now is whether the Knicks deal him to the Clippers by the trade deadline.

Which would honestly be hilarious considering all the depth the Clippers would have to get rid of to sign him.

And I'm glad about it

Let LeBron have his legacy cemented elsewhere and let us build with someone else

Who are we building with Deng/Asik/Lin?

Who would turn down LeBron?

It's awfully hilarious you think the Clippers FO is that stupid.

I don't see Love coming here if the Lakers are still trash if he ever decides to leave the T-Wolves. Just like Melo there will be other teams going after him like the Bulls, Knicks. He won't trade one bad situation for another one. Unless the Lakers draft some young superstar in this year draft that they could sell him on, and he wouldn't have to be in another rebuild.

Old Kobe+Young superstar+Love. :hmm:

This is why the Kobe era contending for championships is probably over.  At this point he's a distraction for fans, some just haven't acknowledged it.  You don't build champions over night and the system and environment Kobe won in is long gone.  That takes time to create and Kobe at this point is playing on borrowed time.

And it looks like they're plotting to do it again. Even as there has been growing speculation with Anthony's future, the Knicks seem to be quite sure he's going nowhere.

And they've already got his help lined up. According to league sources, the Knicks' first prong is to try to attract the Celtics' Rajon Rondo. This idea has been tossed around in various forms for a while now, it's not shocking. But the way the Knicks are hoping to get Rondo is a little unusual.

It's not in free agency in 2015 but later this season or next summer when he comes back from a torn ACL. The Knicks are hoping Rondo will be interested in making a maneuver similar to what Anthony did back in 2011 and eventually try to force a trade to the Knicks, sources said.

If that fails -- and who knows how Rondo will mesh with this Celtics team, it could work well and he could want to stay -- the Knicks fully believe they will get one or two of the following in free agency in 2015 when they expect to have large salary-cap space: Kevin Love, LaMarcus Aldridge, Roy Hibbert, Marc Gasol, Tony Parker or Rondo when his contract is up.

Under certain circumstances, James himself could be a free agent again that summer.

Good luck Knicks.

Sounds a lot like when they were confident in landing LeBron James a few seasons ago.

Sounds like a dream without a plan.

The Knicks are done. They should just embrace it and try to get some first rounders and prospects for Carmelo this season.

They better get him now. Short PGs that can't shoot have a short lifespan.

Tell Andre Miller that.

Andre Miller played and continues to play a [WAY] below the rim, old man game. he uses his height and large frame to bully smaller PGs in the mid-range and post. there's nothing physically dynamic about his game that has drastically changed with age.

And rondo is a pure passer and uses has one of the highest basketball IQ's in the league, so how is his athleticism gonna drastically change him?

As one NBA executive told ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, New York is very confident that they’ll re-sign Carmelo Anthony and put another star or two alongside their franchise player.

“They’re one confident bunch,” a league executive said this week. “To listen to them, they expect to have Carmelo re-signed and have another star with him in another year. They’re so sure about it you’d think they already know what will happen.”
